The 5in scissors are comfortable for both right- and left-handed users to hold. These scissors do not have a “hand-specific” contouring so it should be comfortable to hold in either hand. However the blades are positioned for a right hand user.
Fiskars Softgrip® Kids Left-handed Pointed-tip Scissors are available at Target in the Back-to-School program in store. These are designed for left-handed users – the blades are flipped so it is easier for the left-handed user to see what they are cutting.

Not for left handed
The description notes that it is for both right and left handed, however that is not the case. The handles are shaped for right handed. Unfortunately, I wasn’t unable to determine that until I removed the packaging. There also was a mildly sticky coating on the handles as well. I ordered two and the film was on both. Despite recommendations from teacher, I will be looking for a different pair more suitable for my left handed toddler.

What happened to a classic?!?
I have always been a fan of Fiskars scissors, both as a teacher as well as a parent. However, these are NOT the same quality as I have always known. The handles are too large for little hands, and it sounds/feels like you are cutting sandpaper even when they are brand new. I am looking for a new brand to recommend!
