Q: Is it possible to use this clip for step counting all by itself? I don't own any other Fitbit products.
A: You have to buy the FitBit Inspire 3 tracker, it counts your steps. You insert the tracker into silicon clip, bought seperately, only Inspire 3 clip will fit a Inspire 3 tracker.
