I was scared to buy a vacuum sealer after reading many reviews. I bought this one after getting a recommendation from a friend. After it working well on 15 bags… the vacuum no longer sucks the air out. I’ve tried fixing it. Wasted time. Wasted bags. My friend said the gasket is defective. NO RESPONSE FROM THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER EMAILING THEM. They are zero help and do not stand behind their product. DO NOT BUY this brand.

First use today, so maybe... my last sealer was a Nesco. Worked great for about 5 years before the vacuum motor failed. So, won't know much about lifespan yet. It is quieter, but slow. I like the lock and the seal so far. I seal a lot at one time so it will take longer. Time will tell. It's at least average, works as advertised.

I had a FoodSaver for 9 years before replacing it in February 2024 with this model. It is horrible! The "vacuum" option rarely works on the first attempt....today it took me 4 attempts to try to make it "vacuum" and I ended up using a ziploc bag....not the first time this has happened....I would rather have my old model than this worthless piece of machinery. So disappointed.

I took advantage of an incredible sale to upgrade to a "FoodSaver". My previous vacuum sealer lasted 10+ years and isn't as "air tight" anymore. I have a better seal now, but the lower "base" is a bit awkward and not helpful to my arthritis.Does a good job sealing, just have to use it on a "good day" for breaking down "bulk buys".

I bought this and after using it for a week it stopped heating the bags to seal them. I need a refund or replacement product asap. i figured buying the more expensive vacuum sealer would be worth the money, not in this case. my old cheap one lasted longer.

I bought this unit as a replacement for an older model that I had been using for over 10 years. The old one worked very well, was easy to use, and never caused a moments problem, until one day something in the circuit board popped. This unit is a terrible design, the cutter bar placement is buried under the lid, so it is hard to get a feel for how long a bag you are cutting, causing in many cases either bags too long or to short. The angle of the lid is such that you need a lot longer bag than the other units I have had in order to get the lid closed and start the seal. The lid itself is awkward to lift, the catch in the up position seems very clunky and when you go to drop it to engage the latch it is very easy for the bag to get moved around and out of the slot. From day one it takes way longer to vac a bag, in many cases it does not get all the air out of the bag before it switches to the seal stage. I have been using theses products for 20 years, I have them in both my residences and I also use one at a fishing camp. When I use this unit, I can hardly believe it is made by the same company that makes the 5 other models have used and enjoyed over the years. Every time I use this one it makes me think hard about whether or not I would buy another Foodsaver if one breaks down.

I love the Food Saver I had one before this one from many years ago works great passed on to my niece. I have never had a issue. I had done a chicken breast test 5 yrs after i sealed looked just like the day i put it in fresh. I am proud to be one of their customers.

I've had it for over two years and aside from replacing the bags I've had no other maintenance. I've never used the handheld so can't comment, I just use the main component for sealing everything.
