I wanted a torchiere behind my living room sectional couch. One that could be eclectic- as this is. I love it. Just enough light although you can put in brighter bulbs which I chose not to. The two sides move in different directions and the glass etching shows with the light. Good price for a decent quality lamp!

We recently placed a newly refinished table in our living area. It is situated in a long open area a considerable distance from overhead lights at either ends of this area. Given lack of social events lately we planned to use it for playing cards, doing puzzles, or playing board games. We wanted a light directed at the white ceiling to give some overhead lighting as well as lights that could be directed by adjustment. Also we wanted fairly bright lighting. This lamp has an attractive bronze hammered look to the metal stand. The top light is at 5ft. The lower lights are about 10-12 inches apart. The top bulb can be up to 150 watts. The lower ones up to 60 watts. The lower lights can be adjusted directionally side to side and up and down. The shades have a bit of crackle and clouded effect in a cream color which is attractive and goes with almost anything. The base is heavy and quite stable. The on/off switch is on a pad on the cord. (about a foot from the lamp base). You step on a bar to illumine the two lower lights (both at once). The top light is on a dimmer operated by a sliding foot pad. I really like this lamp.

Instructions were amiss in advising what to do with all the extra cord hanging from all 3 pieces you screwed together. Scuffed up the edges of the cord pulling through the rough metal edges. Secondly, the wording on the switch indicated foot operated for top light and a off/on switch for the side lights. You didn't clarify that the off/on switch wasn't on the side lights but rather on the foot pedal-so inconvenient if you are sitting on sofa and want to reach up to turn on a light to read. Quality lamp and I appreciate that part. Thanks so much.

I have been looking for a new floor lamp for about 6 months now. Our space is limited which limited the variety of designs I could pick from. I have visited every brick and mortar store that carries floor lamps with no success. The lamps were all the same design. Most cheaply made. I ended up on Lamps Plus website through an offer of my credit company. One afternoon, I sat down at the computer and started sifting through the endless choices. I loved how if there was a style I liked I could save it and then also see others similar to it. My spouse and I sat down later and looked through my favorites. We both loved this one. It fits perfectly in our corner of our living room. Doesn't take up much space. The top light is soft. The top light is also dimmable. The two side lights are adjustable so you can aim the light in a few different directions. You can have the top light on or the side lights on. Many many choices. With all the lights on, our living room is considerably brighter. Loved this lamp and loved shopping for a lamp on Lamps Plus. Would definitely do both again!!!
