French's Original French Fried Onions 2.8oz

Bought a small package yesterday for a recipe. Opened it less than 5 hours after purchase and the "crispy" onions are limp and oddly textured. The foil seal was intact, so I don't know what's going on with them.

As I see I'm not the only one disappointed with the product lately.. I'm especially disappointed that you no longer make the other flavors. I used to make a dish my son absolutely loves with the cheddar onions... And they're gone.. The crunch is gone too...

went to make my renouned green bean cassarole for valentines day as i had made for christmas previously, and when I opened the container instead of the lucious smell ,similar to the smell next to the fried veggies trailer at the county fair, I was met with nothing, bland nothing. I tasted them to see if they were OK or not and they were crunchy but with NO flavor [like eating plain rice krispies , rice krispies have more flavor!] Thinking maybe this can expired although date was 8/23 ,I opened my back-up can [exp 11/23] and found the same thing!!Whoever authorised the removal of artificial flavors for the current flavors messed up BIG TIME. They must totally lack olfactory and taste buds. Generations of GB cassarole eaters will be sorely dissapointed if this problem is not corrected. I know I won't be using this product until it is fixed!!

Just opened my container of French fried onions expiring in Aug 2023. They smelled like plastic and when I cooked them on my chicken and rice the smell was horrible like burning plastic. Husband tasted it and said it was horrible.

What did you change recently? These are not the same flaky goodness we are used to. The product is not as good as it was and I wish you would not mess with perfection.

I get these quite often. I love to put them on my salad. I just opened a new can and they are oily and chewy. Yuck.

These are the best, use them all them time, especially for my green bean casserole. They have just the right amount of crispiness and are very versatile. I also like to use them in my salads, mac and cheese, burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, and so much more. The container keeps their freshness

I always get this to add to any item. Hamburgers, casserole etc. great flavor and crunchy.

Some spoilsport vegan, not content to just hate on meat, indicated these were made using palm oil. I never knew what oil made them the tastiest but I do know and will be buying a boat-load for Christmas tomorrow!

A thanksgiving staple - but also great as a coating to fried chicken!

Claims it does not contain allergens; however, people who are lactose intolerant cannot have dextrose because it is a dairy based preservative. This product will cause problems for lactose intolerant people.

Love these things, we eat them more often than we should. However, the ones I bought today are chewy and stale tasting. As others have said, they are not crispy as usual bet are well within the sell date. What is up McCormick???

I love fried onions and used to buy them all the time. However, these use palm oil which is very unsustainable and bad for the environment. As a result, I will not be buying them anymore until a better oil such as vegetable or corn oil is used.

THE LAST FEW BOXES I PURCHASED WERE NOT CRUNCHY BUT CHEWY.

They are delicious. Will recommend for salads, burgers , hot dogs.

I've been buying these a while now and love them! However the last 3 containers aren't crispy they are more chewy, but the date is still good. Are these stale, did the recipe change? Hope the next containers are back to normal.

I buy a container (or three) every single time I shop. Love them - as toppers AND plain! (Don't at me.) Never EVER have I run across a stale batch...until now. Yowzah. Baaaaad. And the expiration date is more than a year plus away! (Exp: Nov 22 2021 UPC Code: 41500 22020)

We love the Crispy Fried Onions and use them on a lot of our casseroles. Super bummed when I bought the last 2 containers at the store only to find one of the containers was stale. Thankfully we got 2 though, and could use the back up. Otherwise, we love these so much that even our 2yo daughter brings them to us wanting them as a snack.

The original is consistently great. Thanks for keeping this product high-quality.
