Haven't bought these in years, got some at Thanksgiving time and made a casserole yesterday... ruined it because I'm picking out onion skins... not great for introducing new foods to my toddler neither. Especially since I'm practically choking on them in my throat

The original French's Crispy Fried Onions are WAY TOO SALTY! It would be nice to find a LOW SODIUM version of these. It would be great to have these without so much salt in them! I would not recommend the original ones and I can only give the one star!

I bought two containers for thanksgiving and made green bean casserole… the smell of plastic was beyond overwhelming. The taste of plastic was even more intense. My husband got sick.

Happy with the onions, but why so much plastic?

I like French's better than any store brand fried onions I've purchased. But I wish the packaging was more environmentally friendly. Why do they need to be in a single use thick hard plastic container that will sit in a landfill for 1000 years after I use them on one casserole? There has to be a better option for packaging.

From Durkee to French's-owned; oh well. French's: 2T = 60mg sodium! 30mg per T. Fresh Gourmet: 1.5T = 15mg sodium. 10mg per T. Taste test? Salty & unhealthy v. onion-y, flavorful & healthier.

Crispy Onions tasted like chemicals

My latest purchase of Crispy Fried Onions - Original - had a strange, chemical taste to them. As soon as the foil was peeled off, the smell was overwhelming - as if the product absorbed the smell (and taste) of the plastic resin container. I have enjoyed these fried onions as far back as the Vietnam War days when I sent cans of them to my uncle who served there but am reluctant to buy them again after this experience. Thought I should let you know your quality assurance team missed the mark on this one!

I love these Crispy Onion Rings but my last purchase was a huge disappointment. There was a huge clump on top that I could not bite through. The rest of the package was soggy and stale. Will be returning and switching to store brand.

I kept seeing if I could find any yummy onions but to many onions I am trying are just the worst and the only ones that taste good are the ones that are better for cooking products that are better than other brands that taste like plastic spoons and they don’t smell as nice as other products like apples, oranges or tomatoes but these are just some disgusting chips that taste like burnt plastic and are gross but not really thioridazine’s taste!

Bought a small package yesterday for a recipe. Opened it less than 5 hours after purchase and the "crispy" onions are limp and oddly textured. The foil seal was intact, so I don't know what's going on with them.

As I see I'm not the only one disappointed with the product lately.. I'm especially disappointed that you no longer make the other flavors. I used to make a dish my son absolutely loves with the cheddar onions... And they're gone.. The crunch is gone too...

what happened to the french fried onions

went to make my renouned green bean cassarole for valentines day as i had made for christmas previously, and when I opened the container instead of the lucious smell ,similar to the smell next to the fried veggies trailer at the county fair, I was met with nothing, bland nothing. I tasted them to see if they were OK or not and they were crunchy but with NO flavor [like eating plain rice krispies , rice krispies have more flavor!] Thinking maybe this can expired although date was 8/23 ,I opened my back-up can [exp 11/23] and found the same thing!!Whoever authorised the removal of artificial flavors for the current flavors messed up BIG TIME. They must totally lack olfactory and taste buds. Generations of GB cassarole eaters will be sorely dissapointed if this problem is not corrected. I know I won't be using this product until it is fixed!!

I’ve been buying this product for years, but the quality has diminished. I just purchased a few more and the quality has changed drastically. It is now EXTREMELY salty and greasy! Barely any onion taste.. just tastes like bland greasy salt now. Please change it back to the old recipe!

What did you change recently? These are not the same flaky goodness we are used to. The product is not as good as it was and I wish you would not mess with perfection.
