Description
Tanzania Peaberry coffee is a rare African coffee varietal grown in the Mbeya Region of Southwestern Tanzania. These wonderfully smooth and full-bodied Tanzania Peaberry coffee beans are lightly roasted, fairly rich in flavor and characterized by notes of lemon, peach and black tea. The distinct aromatics, defining fruity flavor, medium acidity and clean, lively finish of this Tanzanian coffee are all perfectly paired without being overpowering. The Mbeya region is responsible for producing the largest amount of Tanzanian Peaberry coffee in Tanzania. Only 10% of the world's coffee develops a peaberry characteristic - which is easily recognized by the smaller and rounder bean size. This specific type of arabica coffee is not native to Tanzania and was brought to the country by missionaries in the late 19th century. Production of Tanzanian Peaberry coffee beans is often split between smallholder home processors, smallholder processors at central pulperies, and estate grown coffees.

One of my favorites
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Tanzanian Peaberry in light roast matches many of my FRC favorite medium roasts. In fact, because it’s done in light roast it is one of my favorites from FRC. Fresh pour has a beautiful color to match great flavor.

My go-to coffee choices are
My go-to coffee choices are African, light roast, mild body. What I like about the Tanzanian Peaberry is its richer aroma, which makes me understand the tasting note of chocolate. For myself, I experience the flavor as more vegetal versus fruity.

I had my first couple
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had my first couple of pots of this Peaberry, and thought it tasted like a tea. Consulted my friend/ barista, and tried a finer grind. Voilla! A very clean fresh coffee. I recommend trying it for a 'summer coffee', and was advised to try it for espresso. Haven't done that yet. Also advised to try it for a post roast blend with a richer mid roast.

As Good As Ever
I've been drinking FRC for years now and was a bit surprised when I realized how full-bodied and flavorful light roasts are and TPb quickly became one of my go-to favorites. I was a bit nervous when I noticed the the origin estate name had changed recently, but no worries, it's as delicious as ever. It's also among the lower priced beans. Definitely worth checking out.

Don’t want my cup to finish
I mix it with a little bit of dark knight decaf and I don’t want my cup to finish. I didn’t expect this amount of flavour and mouthfeel from a light roast and mild body. The quality of this coffee is amazing and it’s raised my standards for what to expect from a cup of coffee.
