The texture is like part of me or Vienna sauce smooshed up. It doesn’t smell bad actually smell like I got a lot of healthy ingredients in it like sweet potato and it’s bigger than what I thought it was gonna be so I am grateful for that. I give this a 10 out of 10 my puppy love it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Freshpet Select Small Dog Multi-Protein Recipe with Sweet Potatoes is perfect for our little Chiapso mixed breed 12 lb , 13 year old dog, Lexie! She tends to be more of a picky eater when it comes to her dog foods, but with this FreshPet Select as soon as I, her Momma since she’s been a 6 week old baby girl, put her little bowl down to eat she sure chowed down!! I did mix some of her regular hard food kibble along with the soft food and she still had no problem devouring the entire bowl! The texture was perfect, nice and crumbling not too soft like canned food at all! Doesn’t smell bad either like canned food would smell too! Actually smells like something we would prepare for our dogs and it even has some greens in there!! So it’s super healthy looking! Even our large dog who is 90-95lbs wanted to get in on some of her tiny bowl! Hahahaa!! Maybe I’ll give her a little bit too ! After all you’ve got to share and make it fair!! Lol!

It comes in 1/8 sections and tells you how much to feed your pup based on his/her weight. We started out with just 1/8 and my dog gobbled it up so quickly!! She loved it!!

I cut half of it to mix with his bowl of dry food. We like to mix fresh veggies, eggs and cheese all the time.. so this was just another healthy addition! He ate it in record time, his food location is too dark to take a good photo of him eating it!

Love that this is a more natural food and it is easy for him to eat because he is senior doggy. I keep it in the fridge and just slice off a small slice and then smoosh it with a fork and let him go to town on it. He has always been a picky eater and he likes this. I believe that the price is really fair for the actual healthy ingredients in the food. I believe this is one that I will keep buying.

He has a hard time eating normally, being an elder with no teeth, but this was easy for him to consume, he kept coming back for more. The packaging is suitable and easy to open.
