MediFrida delivers the full dose through a soft, familiar paci that sends medicine to the side of the cheek, bypassing baby's taste buds to prevent messy spit-ups. There's more! MediFrida is the only paci-style medicine dispenser that doubles as a real pacifier, so dosing doesn't disrupt baby's busy soothing schedule.
My first kiddo never had any issues taking meds, but my second HATES it. It involved one person holding her head, me trying to get the syringe in her cheek, and a lot of medicine being raspberried out! On day 3 of antibitoics, Dad had to go out of town. I purchased this to see if it worked, and it was AMAZING! She took her meds very quickly and without any issues/losing any meds! To use it, about 1 minute into a bottle, I would switch it out for the paci. She would get the meds and then we'd just finish the bottle. Buying these for every baby shower now!
My baby has to take zantac that is peppermint in flavor and he absolutely hates it. This dispenser has rid of all the fussing of taking the medicine, it must bypass his taste buds to make it tolerable.
I bought the Accu-Dose Pacifier to use the syringe only to supplement formula for my baby without causing nipple confusion. Dispensing the formula incrementally proves difficult as the syringe is choppy and poorly made, usually resulting in a large, uncontrolled squirt of formula into my baby’s mouth. The free syringes from my local pharmacy is smoother. I regret spending so much money on a big brand just to be completely disappointed with the product.
Our baby is taking various medication wih dosage rangin from .3ML to 5MLs. We use our own syringes not just the one that comes in the package and it works great! Cleaning with with a brush I messed up the whole and had to buy a new one.... but that was my fault as first time mom. Rinsing in hot water or adding it to the sterilizer when cleaning the bottles is more than enough.
I was really hoping this would work as my baby takes medicine twice daily for reflux. However, there was medicine each time left over in it that she couldn’t get to after vigorously sucking on the pacifier.
Plus, it just made the whole processor more messy than using a syringe. Bummer! I had to return it.
I first bought one of these a couple years ago and have since bought 2 more for my second child for a total of 3. Yes, still using the one from two years ago. The pacifier holds up well - I hand wash them and wash them in the dishwasher. When a little one is sick, you are more than likely going to use it a few times throughout the day so you are more than likely going to need to hand wash it, but that is why I know have 3 of them so I don't have to wash each time and can throw them in the dishwasher. If your baby likes pacifiers, I would highly recommend. The one thing I don't like about the product, is the new syringe they use. It is horrible and I tossed it. The old blue one is great and I am still using it but the new one is flimsy and cheap. I would prefer them to not include a syringe and lower the price. For the reviews that said the numbers wear off, guessing they had the new syringe. Good news, you can use other syringes, they fit. I use the syringes that come with baby Tylenol when the blue syringe is dirty. Works just as well. And yes to the reviewer that said the baby can knock the syringe out, that is why you are the parent and hold it together and make sure there is a good connection betweent the pacifier and syringe. It is not that complicated. I can't say enough good things about the pacifier. The only downside is the cheap, flimsy syringe, but still worth the buy since you can use other syringes.
