It started good and had a good burn. Overall, I was very impressed with these. I did receive them at a discounted rate for my honest opinion.

These Tumbleweeds Natural Fire Starters get charcoal ready fast for grilling. Alternatively, I used mine in a biofuel camp stove, and it was much more effective than lighting the biofuel (leaves and twigs) alone. Tumbleweeds Natural Fire Starters are a safer and healthier alternative to lighter fluid. They are made in Chile. Use with caution! Seriously, I know that seems obvious since this item involves open flame. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick intensity of the fire starter. I’ve always had trouble starting charcoal and that is one reason I don’t grill that much anymore…but now that I found this product, I think I’ll be grilling a lot more. While I didn’t use them for a charcoal bbq grill (I use a gas grill for cooking,) I did use them to start my fire pit. They light up easily and quickly and stay lit long enough to get the fire going. I used 1 Tumbleweed with some wadded up newspaper then added twigs and wood. Makes making a fire for an evening outside roasting marshmallows a pleasure!

They are super quick to light and you have a perfectly lit fire in under 8 minutes. My husband is quite surprised with the results - we have tried all the internet hacks; wadded or rolled newspaper, dry pinecones, dryer lint stuffed in an empty toilet paper roll… nothing got the fire going quite like these Tumbleweeds!

We tried these out on a drizzly day of rain when it's already difficult to start a fire and when I say that this literally went from nothing to roaring fire with dried out logs in a matter of minutes it was amazing to me how quickly this helped to get the fire going!
