Defective

A week after applying this on my dogs they are still full of fleas. I reported the product was defective and ask for a replacement or refund and they informed me that they wanted the item back first. Explained I couldn’t return it since it was already applied so they won’t help,

When used monthly, FRONTLINE® PLUS for Dogs completely breaks the flea life cycle and controls tick and chewing lice infestations. Do not reapply FRONTLINE® PLUS for Dogs for 30 days. You are likely seeing NEW fleas on your pet, which are jumping on your pet as it moves through infested areas in and around your home. Depending on the severity of the existing infestation, you may continue to see new fleas jumping on your pet for three months or more. Please call 888-637-4251 for further information.

my experience hope this helps

I read through these reviews and want give some insight into my experience vs what some reviews say to help. 1. this is not a fast acting. you will still have fleas for the 1st 24 to 48 hours. This absorbs into the skin and your dogs metabolism has to digest the medicine. 2. this will not help with fleas in your house. you will still have treatment the house. Recommend flea medicine 1st wait 48 days then bug bomb house. after vacuum every day for 2 weeks. and every 3 days put flea killing spray or powder on the floor and furniture. 3. this will kill flea if they get on your dogs we are having fleas fall off our dogs. But will not treat if your dog is allergic to flea bits. This will have to be a separate treatment like oatmeal baths and hot spot spray ect. 4. this dose kill adult fleas, flea eggs and larva but not flea pupas. pupas are the hardest to kill. so even after fleas not insite continue to flea treatment up to a year. as that is how long pupa fleas can stay dormant for. 5. This gose directly on to dogs skin. I bought a few that sit on the fur and dont work. this is to be put onto the skin in one spot and wait for the medicine to be absorbed in to the skin. 6. I have 2 dogs one 20 pounds and one 18 pounds. my 20 pounds took the treatment just fine. But my 18 pounds is seeming to have a little adverse reaction to it. so please keep a eye on smaller dogs. Over all I will keep using this as my neighbors dogs are where my flea problem is coming from. they have 3 dogs that are untreated and keeping giving them to my dogs through the fence. I hope this answers any questions you have. As I had alot of the same question.

Caused lameness and did not kill fleas

Caused lameness in back leg and did not work. I applied after finding just 1 flea and 2 weeks later, there were at least 20 found. He had 12 days where he couldn't walk on his back leg at all and now 27 days after applying, he still limps.

not effective for outdoor dogs

Kills fleas within three days but doesn't prevent discomfort dog when bitten. Best for indoor pets not around other dogs.

Once applied, FRONTLINE® Plus for Dogs is stored in the sebaceous glands in your pet's skin and spreads over the whole-body surface with their natural oils protecting your dog for 30 days. Fleas and ticks are killed through contact with your pet's skin and coat, so they do not need to bite to be killed. Even if you have treated your pet for fleas, some fleas may lay eggs before dying, therefore it is important to tackle flea eggs. FRONTLINE® Plus for Dogs kills fleas in 12 hours before most fleas have time to lay eggs. The (S)-methoprene in FRONTLINE® Plus prevents development of flea eggs and flea larvae, breaking the flea life cycle. Contact our Veterinary Technical Solutions Team at 1-888-637-4251 if you have questions or concerns.

Good price and seems to work!

Seems to have worked good for the price! We have three outside dogs. We live on a farm, so they are exposed to lots of different types of bugs & ticks. The ticks are the worst in the summer and we didn’t have a tick problem with either three of our dogs.

Does not kill fleas!

Does not kill fleas. Used this product a month ago. Thought my dog had allergies. Took him into the vet. They found a flea. He now has a skin infection and it on antibiotics.

Flea infestations problems are complex. The life cycle of fleas means that new adults can be emerging daily. If there are animals in or around your house that are not on a flea prevention product, then fleas will continue to be a problem. All animals around the house need to be on flea prevention every month. Non-domesticated animals like raccoons and opossums are visiting the places where your dogs live can help feed fleas and allow them to lay eggs. All dogs and cats in the household need to be treated with a species appropriate product to fully control existing flea populations. Do not reapply FRONTLINE® Plus for Dogs for 30 days. Use once monthly to break the flea life cycle. You are likely seeing NEW fleas on your pet, which are jumping on your pet as it moves through infested areas in and around your home. Depending on the severity of the existing infestation, you may continue to see new fleas jumping on your pet for three months or more. To learn more about fleas and flea infestations, visit the FRONTLINE® website: https://frontline.com/about-fleas
