My heeler/ husky mix sheds like crazy. I use to have a store brand $10 desheeder that was okay, but still left him with a bit of hair daily. When I went to the pet store for another one, the lady said that this would definitely be worth the investment. I’m so glad I purchased it because it is amazing. We have a Dutch Shepherd and he sheds all year long…I hate all the hair in my house. This removed more hair than anything else I’ve used! Shedding comes with the territory of this dog and I’m hoping this will help keep it down some.

I was skeptical about spending this kind of money on what felt like “just a brush” for my lab, but she was starting to shed small clumps of fur everywhere and was still bushy. This brush was used for a few minutes one day (she wouldn’t stand still), and closer to 20 minutes the second day. What a difference! I liked that the Furminator had what I consider to be a “guard,” helpful for wrongly dogs and inquisitive toddlers who tried to help (the help was denied). I was afraid the edges were going to be too rough on her skin and fur but they definitely weren’t! The brush was used on the obvious itches of fur fluff, and it was so satisfying seeing the clumps of fur come out. My dog definitely wriggled around a ton using this (totally normal for her to NOT sit still), but eventually quieted down and seemed to enjoy the brushing. Her coat is so much softer and silkier after this brushing, it’s like night and day! So glad I fought my skepticism and purchased this, it’s worth the money and will be used frequently to help keep poor dogs cost in line so she stays cool during the summer heat!
Buy it. Just do it. If youre considering buying it, you need to.

Buy it. Just do it, if you’re looking at this review it’s because your dog is shedding and you’re tired of cleaning up the fur. It’s worth it. I used two other deshedding devices immediately before trying this for the first time and it removed PILES of loose fur that the other de shedders left behind. It works so well beyond the competition that there is truly no comparison. It is a hefty price tag, but worth the investment. Also, my dogs actually enjoyed this one, whereas they would try to squirm away from the others. It must feel like a good scratch to them. It also removed the dander along with the loose fur.
So great for all animals!!!

I bought the Furminator deshedding tool today from a pet supply store near me and wish I'd bought it two months ago when we adopted our dog. He's a shelter dog--possibly some sort of Border Collie, shepherd, Husky, something else mix--and he can shed a lot, particularly as the season is changing from spring to summer or if he's stressed. His coat is medium length, with an undercoat. The medium long hair tool worked great. It was more effective by far than any other brushes I've tried and it was easier on my dog's skin. I had a bale of hair at the end. (Tried to upload a photo but it wouldn't save)

Be careful. Do not overbrush. Irritated my shepards skin and then moisture got trapped since he has a thick coat and got infected and hundreds of dollars later he’s doing better after antibiotics and the cone of shame.

I bought ours 10 years ago when I got a German Shepherd Dog. I love love love this brush. I have used it on many pets over the years. Dogs, cats, bunnies. short hair and med long. Although I use a a different brush to detangle to longer fur first. I am now ordering a new one because it it has a fur ejector where the original one does not. After 10+ years of use I can say it's worth every penny. Combined with the de-shedding shampoo during big shedding my pets have soft shinny coats with a lot less fur in the house.
