Description

Raising squash, cucumbers and other fruiting vines up off the ground produces a healthier, cleaner and more bountiful crop - not to mention the suspended fruit don't develop a flattened side due to ground contact. But don't try this tactic unless you have a super-strong support to hold your crop, like this Titan A-Frame Trellis. Its polyethylene-coated steel framework and durable nylon netting can support up to 26 lbs. of jumbo-sized squash, cukes and more. Plus there are no delicate ties to weaken, since the A-frame incorporates ingenious clips that make the system even more rigid. Better yet, it sets up in minutes and the strong nylon netting lasts for years.

I am using in a raised bed. The frame fits but not exactly so I will have a bumping hazard. The instructions were horrible causing several attempts to get it together but finally succeeded. Instructions were also inaccurate.

Has great flexibility since width can be easily varied by adjusting the side rods

Frustrating assembly

The problem is that the clips don't really work on the diagonals. My thumbs looked like a grilled steak after trying to put this together, and I still had to leave off several struts. Maybe it could be improved if the designers assembled several products and reflected on where people might get frustrated. I thought maybe the problem was with the ends of the struts. Gardeners.com kindly sent replacement struts and clips by express. Alas, they did not work. One thing I found helpful is to exactly measure a square space on the site before starting assembly. I assembled it on the porch and tried to carry it down to the garden, which was a disaster.

Bought this trellis for cantaloupe this year. Hoping for the best. The trellis is a nice free standing option but I'm not sure how sturdy it will be with vines and heavy fruit on it. We'll see. Took some time to set up, but it was fairly easy.

I wanted to love this, but the clips create weak points

The clips are so strong that the legs bend to the point of snapping right at the clip point if the wind pushes over the frame when secured to the ground. Please offer replacement legs on website.

Very solid trellis! Built these to grow some moderately established passionfruit. Very easy to start training the vines onto the trellis and helps to make it easy to remove fruit from the vines. Feels robust and great quality. Highly recommend!

This has no problem with two cucumber plants on one side and two baby watermelon on the other. Purchasing another for my acorn squash and cantaloupe. I've been very pleased with all the titan products.

Simply did not work for me

With so many positive reviews for this item, I don't understand what went wrong for me, but I could not get this Trellis assembled correctly. I watched the video and followed the written directions. The staked supports and side supports kept falling out of the Support Connectors and I had to tape them in place to continue assembly. The Sure-clips would not stay fully seated in the side support end caps and as soon as I secured the open ends of the clips around the side supports the Sure-clip would slip to the end of the prongs in the end cap. I kept readjusting and leveling the side supports and clips but was only able to get a couple of side supports to stay fully seated. When the Trellis was completely assembled and I tried to move it from the garage to the garden, some of the clips popped off. After readjusting and securing the clips several times and having the same results each time, I gave up and will be returning this item to Gardener's Supply.

The clips you use to put it together take a minute to figure out how to use, but after that they are a breeze.

THIS BLEW OVER FIRST WEEK IN SD WIND! NOT RECOMMENDED

My husband and I put this together according to the specific directions. When we first put the side poles together, they kept coming apart at the "seam" area, so we put electrical tape on that area to keep the poles together. It was VERY difficult to assemble because some of the "fasteners" did not want to stay on because the plastic area to place the metal fasteners on the poles did not seem to line up making it not secure as some of the other ones. We measured carefully to get all the poles in the exact positions all the way around. We are in SD and get wind here...and this thing blew over the first week and the plants lost most of their blooms when it fell down. We stuck all four of the feet back into the ground AGAIN like we did the first time about 8", so we shall see if this makes it through the first season. I would not buy it again because the price is way too much for something that did not perform. Sadly, expectations for this product were NOT met.

Knew it was a nightmare when I took it out of the box

This is incredibly cheap for the price. As soon as I saw it, I regretted the purchase. I bought a tripod last year that is made with identical pieces and we threw it away within months. Pointless. Like this one, the bottom leg supports just slide in, no snap, no connection, so they just fall out when you move it. For this one, it makes assembly difficult, and moving/adjusting it is a pain because the legs are constantly falling off. So if you're trying to do this alone, you have to hold the leg at the bottom, while crouching over to reach it, and move one leg at a time, which doesn't really work. The horribly bright green netting makes it an eyesore in the garden. There is a reason they show little illustrations instead of pictures, which makes it appear all black. You won't convince me that wasn't on purpose. I would never have purchased this had I know. The items here vary so drastically from decent quality to dollar store quality, and the latter are horribly overpriced. Beyond disappointed.
