Super Watch
This is my second Fenix watch and the new Fenix 8 Pro Sapphire is beyond amazing. The AMOLED watch face is a game changer, and my data can be displayed clearly and easy to read. My previous Fenix 7 Pro Sapphire was an excellent watch however it the new Fenix 8 is far superior. The new EKG function and In Reach capabilities are a must have and gives me the peace of mind while out hiking or any location where cellular reception is limited or unavailable. I have a Garmon 750 Montana and could use my In Reach function but with my new Fenix 8 Pro Sapphire I do not have to rely on my Montana for InReach in the event of an emergency. I strongly recommend the new Fenix 8 Pro Sapphire for anyone looking for a superior watch with InReach and EKG function. This new watch has tons of options and features which other watches on the market cannot begin to match.

great watch
I bought this watch a few months ago. No issues, love the look and feel. Nothing negative to report about the watch but not a huge fan of the golf app. This is one thing that Apple watch was better at with the golf apps.

Still learning but love my Garmin!
I'm a long & loyal Garmin fan with many of their devices so tend to cut them slack. However, I very much enjoy my new 51mm fenix 8 Pro and learn a few more capabilities every day. I now wear the fenix all night and was a little concerned the 51mm would be too large and disruptive while I slept. Definitely not the case and I don't even feel it. The sleep feedback has been interesting and informative so look forward to comparing results over time. The available watch faces are very nice.

Amazing watch, but stubborn buttons
I bought this and another Garmin watch to figure out which I would keep. I liked this one better, but the buttons were so finicky- many times I would have to push down 2-3x in order for the buttons to work because they were too “squishy” and non-responsive. I was sad I had to return it even though it was the better watch, I just knew the buttons were going to drive me crazy trying to press them multiple times to get them to work.

So far, so good
I got this a few weeks back and while the display is crisp and battery life has been great, there are a few app idiosyncrasies that I do not like. For one, the golf function doesn’t show when to add putting and leaves more to be desired as no prompt to enter club via vibration. Other than that, it has been a great watch.

Nice upgrade from the fenix 5
I’ve had for a month and a half now and so far so good The only draw back is that sometimes I can shut the phones alarm off and sometimes it doesn’t The keep doing updates which it means they are still working on bugs

Love This Watch
I bought the fenix for my fitness routine to help monitor my progress for weight loss, controling blood pressure, etc. It has not disappointed! Once you get the button sequence down for the various functions, it is spot on. I am absolutely amazed at the battery life. Out of the box it had +/- 20 days of battery life and with moderate use, was true to that. It got down to 3 days and I charged it to 99% which was about 27 days. Charging took about an hour. Truly amazing. Just beware, if you have an existing Garmin inReach device subscription, you will need to set up a separate account to have the an active inReach subscription for the fenix. Not a complaint, just want people to be aware. Otherwise, this device, I hesitate to call it a watch, is a beast.

Outstanding Trim and Finish
This thing is such a beautiful piece. Super subtle differences from the 7X Solar that I just sold, but the overall quality is undeniable. It would have been better if they could have kept the thickness the same. It stands off the wrist a bit more than the 7X did. All my issues with functionality have more to do with my learning curve on the customizations available, which is encouraging. Not impressed with the voice functionality yet. Turning Sleep Mode on and off using shortcut is borderline not working. Weird stuff like that. This is my 3rd or 4th Fenix. Finally able to run without my phone, listen to music and stay in touch in an emergency.

Great design but falls short on LTE functionality
I love my Garmin Epix Pro and was excited to see the Fenix 8 Pro get LTE to hopefully be able communicate without the phone. Unfortunately, the closed proprietary system and the requirement to have everyone I want to contact have the Messager app was a deal breaker for me for the high cost of the watch. I hope that someday perhaps this will not be a closed system and the LTE will function more like the Apple Ultra 3 in that it can share the number with my phone and be able to communicate natively. I decided to keep my Epic Pro as I love it and it covers my use case for that watch, and I went with an Ultra 3 as my daily driver.

Battery life
I was wearing the Apple Watch Ultra and it’s night and day difference with the battery. I was having to charge the Apple Watch every 18 hours and I have not had to charge my fenix in18 days. So many great features that I love. Great watch.

Impressive Hardware, Frustrating Connectivity
I recently upgraded from the previous Fenix 8 51 mm AMOLED to the new Fenix 8 Pro 51 mm AMOLED. While the hardware feels more refined and the AMOLED screen is gorgeous, the experience hasn’t been as smooth as I hoped — mainly because the watch frequently loses connection with my iPhone 16 Pro.

We appreciate the review! Garmin watches have a setting that will alert you when your watch connects or disconnects from your phone. It's normal to experience many connections/disconnections throughout the day when smartphone connection alerts are enabled. After a temporary disconnection, the device should reconnect to the phone within a minute or two of the Bluetooth signal being detected. Additional information about this can be found here: http://ms.spr.ly/6425sxPHf You can also turn off smartphone connection alerts by holding the middle-left button and selecting Watch Settings > Notification & Alerts > System Alerts > Phone.

Great overall watch with excellent user interface
I bought my Fenix 8 pro about a month ago and I’ve loved it. The maps and gps accuracy is phenomenal, the touch screen works great and I love having the buttons to use as well. Navigating the app is easy and set up was super efficient. The only issue I have is sometimes it does not count reps correctly during workouts it does give you a short time after the set to adjust reps and weight but that takes time. I would love if you could go in after the cycle or at the end of the workout and make edits but that’s a very small issue that I’ve easily worked through. Battery life is as advertised and I love not being required to charge it daily.

Thank you for the review! I can certainly understand how frustrating issues with the battery can be. I believe that our engineers are actively investigating this problem. If you would, please try toggling Airplane mode on/off to see if that improves the battery life on your fenix 8 Pro. If you notice improvement, do this after any ECG reading as a temporary workaround. This issue will likely be resolved in a future software update. If you have questions, Garmin Support is happy to help and can be reached at 1-800-800-1020 Monday-Friday, 7am-7pm Central (Closed weekends and holidays).

Great Upate
I bought this to upgrade from the Fenix 8 when it was released for the LTE functionality. I appreciate not carrying a phone on runs, and the Satellite communications was a very nice bonus. Using LTE with live track takes more battery (expected), but it still lasts for more than a week during heavy use. I'm very happy with my purchase, and highly recommend this watch for its coaching features and maps while hiking.

Great fitness watch but LTE function still lacking
When I saw Garmin finally had a watch that could compete with Apple's LTE where I could go on a run without my phone and still be able to make a call or send a message, I jumped right at the opportunity to purchase, even though the price was steeper than Apple. The fitness capabilities, screen, touch option, haptic feedback are amazing and much better than my Epix 2. However, the LTE didn't work and everything felt very clunky. I tried to make a call and got an error. I tried to send a message through the message app and the recipient received nothing. Instead, it looked like I was attempting to send a message to myself. My husband is only getting Live track notifications if I also have my phone with me. I really wanted it to work so I even tried to download the messenger apps and follow videos on how to use. Thankfully Garmin provided a 30 day subscription to their services. I tried, couldn't get anything to work right and honestly now wouldn't trust the watch to work when I truly needed it, so I'll probably drop the subscriptions and continue with my old method of also carrying my phone or wearing both a Garmin (for stats) and Apple (for LTE) watch. I'm a little disappointed I spent so much on the upgrade as this only offers 1-2 things more the Epix 2 didn't have. I feel as though Garmin should have waited to release until the LTE was more seamless and could work better. Others online seem to be able to get it to work so maybe it's just me as the user but coming from an LTE watch that was so seamless I personally don't want to feel like I'm going backwards. I will probably not be as fast to upgrade next time and will wait to see if others state that the LTE functions work better before purchasing the next model.

I understand the frustration of getting the LTE subscription set up, here is a link that will walk through some troubleshooting steps on getting the LTE fully set up on the watch. http://ms.spr.ly/6425svW9N With that being said if you do still continue to receive the error messages, I highly recommend reaching out to our support team as they are able to walk through this with you in live time. Here is a direct link to the contact information for them. They are available to assist Monday-Friday 7-7 CST. http://ms.spr.ly/6426svW94
