Unmatched Precision and Durability.
I have been putting the Garmin Fenix 8 Pro to the test lately, and it has easily become the most capable piece of wearable tech I have ever owned. Coming from other high-end smartwatches, the transition to the Fenix 8 Pro feels like a significant upgrade in both build quality and functional depth. Design and Build: The craftsmanship is immediately apparent. It feels incredibly solid on the wrist, balancing a rugged, tactical aesthetic with a premium finish that looks just as good in professional settings as it does out on the trails. It’s built to take a beating, which gives me great peace of mind while I'm moving equipment or out exploring on the weekends. Performance and Mapping: The software experience is buttery smooth. Everything from menu navigation to syncing with my various tracking apps is instantaneous. I’ve been particularly impressed with the mapping features—the detail level and responsiveness are leagues ahead of what I’ve experienced on other devices. It is genuinely a reliable companion for navigation. The Verdict: If you are looking for a watch that doesn't just "track" your day but actually empowers your performance, this is it. It’s a powerful, reliable, and deeply customizable tool for anyone who takes their health and outdoor activities seriously. I couldn't be happier with the switch; it’s a masterclass in sport-watch engineering.

Fenix 8 PRO - calling doesn’t work without cell
The calling function is only functional with my cell phone. The whole point of buying this watch was for the PRO aspect with calling not requiring my cell phone. Disappointed.

Cool watch but it got several glitches
I like the watch, lots of cool data, bright screen. Unfortunately while using the messenger app, regular text messages or call, it glitches. Messages appear as sent but the recipient never gets them. Phone calls don't go thru. Hopefully Garmin will figure how to fix these issues.

Lots to Learn
Going to take while to get everything out of this device. The manual was the first clue this isn't a watch. I love it so far!

Fantastic watch
I’ve owned Garmin watches for years and have owned probably every Fenix model since they began. This is my favorite thus far. My last Garmin was an Epix Pro gen 2 51mm. I sold it and my Apple Ultra 3 for this latest Garmin and don’t miss either. My only complaint is I would prefer a wider band. I made some adjustments to my 26mm bands so they fit the 47mm watch and I think they look better. I wish Garmin would make a factory 26mm to fit the 47mm. My home made ones aren’t bad but factory would look better.

Nice watch
Love this watch very light good battery life full of features. I also use it to listen to music that I loaded on watch with Bluetooth earbuds while cutting fields on the tractor. Watch is a bit pricey but I think it’s worth it.

No to battery, LTE and missing data field.
Please note that this review is given in relation to my prior Fenix 7 an my use (where the 8 pro might be a little overkill) The battery life time to me is a complete disaster - with the Fenix 7 I had approximately 14 days of battery with the display, if not always on with light, then at least with the data visible in daylight. To me it’s really annoying and distracting that the screen turns on and off all the time. So now I only have 6 days of battery with the data always visible. I see this as a massive downgrade and misleading from Garmin! On of the data fields i used the most on Fenix 7 was the daily active calorie burn - i used it as and indicator for my activity level throughout the day in relation to my body battery and step count. It’s really disappointing that Garmin has removed it! The LTE FEATURES has absolutely zero value for me, since it’s only possible to communicate through Garmin’s own app.

Should be much better
No real upgrade from Fênix 7 Pro. Battery is not upgraded. Issue of missing active calories that it measured but then disappear especially around sleep time. So, not impressed

Fantastic multisport watch with better legibility
I had the Epix 2nd gen for 4 years; loved the watch and used it for run/bike/swim/triathlon. I also used it daily for sleep score and I appreciated the alerts functionality. The battery life is truly exceptional. The watch is very handsome as well; looks great as a "business casual" watch, it doesn't look like sports equipment. I replaced it with the fenix 8 pro; it is a fantastic upgrade with all of the great attributes mentioned with the Epix. It is incredible to me how the outside case of both watches is 47mm but the screen size of the Fenix looks substantially larger. The display is brighter and the larger/adjustable font sizes, especially in swim mode are really helpful for my near-sightedness. The new flashlight is truly bright and useful as well.

Great watch, great features.
Received the fenix 8 pro as a gift to upgrade my fenix 5. I love the new watch and continue to learn how to use it. I use it mountain biking, while skiing and for golf. Love being able use my wireless headphones with just the watch and leave my phone behind while biking.

SOS doesnt function
The SOS function doesnt work because it wont connect to satelite even with a clear view of a cloudless sky right near town...this was the main reason I got the watch

Love it!
Earlier in the year I bought an Apple Ultra 3 which is a great watch. I’ve owned a few Garmin products in the past. Got out of running 5 years ago but trying to make a slow and steady comeback. I’m also an avid hiker. At 57 my comeback is going to take time and will involve monitoring a lot of variables that the Garmin allows. I love the feel of a round watch over a square one any day! If there’s anything I’d love to see Garmin add, it’s would be the ability to adjust alarms and change and edit faces from the app. Other than that it’s awesome!

Ups and downs
I upgraded from an EPIX, primarily because I wanted the LTE/Satellite features. Those seem to work fine, but I was negatively surprised that a few basic features I enjoyed with the EPIX are not available on the Fenix. (e.g. top speed in knots and ability to have AOD during an activity, but not otherwise)

Impressive Watch - Still Struggling with InReach
I had an Epix 2 for several years and loved it. I was very excited to move up to the Fenix 8 Pro. I had a 47mm Epix so I bought a 47mm Fenix. The Fenix display has noticeably more visible area than the Epix in the same watch diameter. Very nice. One of my main reasons for stepping up to the Fenix 8 Pro was the built in InReach functionality. I used to carry a SPOT all the time and send check in messages to my wife frequently. I mountain bike in remote areas, and sometimes alone. I was looking forward to carrying one less device and just using my watch. The InReach function definitely works, but there are some things I didn't realize. When you send a check in message it will first try to send it through your cell phone, then it will try it's own LTE connection, and then it will send it via satellite. You can force it to do satellite only, but this comes with some challenges. You can't just press the send button and then go about riding assuming that it will send a message at some point. That's how the SPOT used to work, and what I always did. If you want to send a satellite message you have to be in one location, you may have to follow a graphic on the watch to better locate the watch, then wait for it to go through all it's connecting and sending business. It's a great watch, and I'm glad I have it, but the InReach function is a little fussier than I expected for the kinds of places I tend to recreate.
