Terrible
O(zero)stars one star because i had to.Not happy at all. I will not use target any more. First,LONG shipping time. Tried to cancel wrong order for correct order. Called target in 20 minutes to change order and they said they couldn't stop order. I had to accept order that I had to be home for to sign and then was told I didn't have to sign for after all, then had to travel 35 minutes to return unopened item. Already canceled target from my mailing list. Come on target you can do better(or can't you).

Simple but great
I bought this about a month ago and it really meets all my needs. Years ago I transitioned from Apple Watch to a Garmin Fenix 6s. I liked the simplicity of the watch face, but I wasn’t a big fan of the size and only 9 days of battery life life (although it was better than the one day of battery life from Apple). I wanted the 47mm as it was a good in between size for my wrist and I’ll say that I’m really happy with the size. The watch has all the apps I need for my daily activities which is daily walking, strength training, HIIT, and hiking. The map works great and one thing I do appreciate compared to the 6s is the touch screen and being able to swipe to navigate through menus. I know it’s a first world problem, but is very convenient. Overall, I just like the simplicity of this watch and not having all the extras that come with Apple or the super brilliant screen of the other watches in the Fenix series.

Love it
Really like this watch. My other garmin is a fenix 6s and the battery life would not last for the 100 miler im training for. I have had the watch a month and haven’t charged it yet. I did get a different band thats fabric and Velcro and it fits better on my very small wrists

Very nice
This has been a nice upgrade from the instinct 2x. I wish it had stealth mode but I know there are other options for that. The maps for navigation have been a nice upgrade.

47mm AMOLED Fenix 8
Bought a little while ago and very happy with its performance! 1 charge in and the battery is great! Tried the Solar version but am loving the AMOLED display with the bright colors. The face has all the features I need at a glance.

Ingenuity
Upgraded from a Fenix 6 which I appreciated. Until I received the Fenix 8. Wow!! My favorite part is the light. I've used this so many times now. 2nd favorite is the microphone option which is ideal when I'm fishing and my hands are tied.

Good not Great
The solar doesn’t seem like a good enough trade off for screen quality. Colors are extremely dull and washed out for a watch over 1000 dollars. I wish I could have just done the Amoled considering unlike the instinct this doesn’t have infinite battery life. Aside from this. Watch is great. Does what I need and still prefer it to my Apple Watch Ultra.

Need a hike tracker
I don’t know how many stars to rate because it may be user error. I don’t enjoy it so far. I want to backpack with it for very long distances but I can’t even get the hike on the screen to display distance, time, elevation gain and pace. I can’t make the wheel show the icons I need. And my parrot already bit off one of the loops that hold down the watch band. I only use metal watch bands. My Apple Watch uses too much battery but the parrot can’t chew it up. I really need to make this Garmin work

Objective and Subjective Review for Watermen
Candid opinion, from perspective of a full time charter guide and ocean enthusiast: 1.The extra tech features (voice, phone connectivity, etc) are not features I want on a watch. I want to be less connected to my phone, not more. So I turned the features off... but you are still paying for them. 2.The auto speaker port is not bueno if you are using the watch for surfing or ocean fishing on a regular basis - I am a professional charter fisherman and surf regularly. Sand, wax, and grit get into the port and closed it within 2 months of daily use, even with nightly cleaning and the water "purge" feature which I suspect does not do much, if anything- This is an objective design issue, IMO, given its advertisement as a "do it all" watch. If you are a water athlete, get a different watch. 3.The new leak proof buttons are objectively better. My 7 Pro buttons broke twice due to water and sand intrusion. 4. It is good that Garmin is still investing in solar, non-amole screens. The AMOLED can be distracting, are not as good in bright sun, and don't have the battery life if you are really getting after it on the water. For example, on a surf trip to Mexico I forgot my charger cord, the battery was nearly dead on arrival, but with the solar I was able to charge the watch in the sun and kept it going for three weeks. I love and hate Garmin. It has always been that way. Would love it if they would stop chasing Apple with the connectivity features. Make a utilitarian, still high build quality/titanium watch and for god sakes these watches don't last more than 5-7 years best case so the price point needs work. If this has to be the price point, the warranty should be extended. It's a great watch if you are a causal user or a runner, etc. But if you are heavy on the water activities, I'd recommend an older edition of the Decent at a discount or a different brand.

Poor battery life
Disappointing battery life, loosing 10%+ daily with many hours of direct sunlight. My epix gen 2 had a better battery life with an amoled screen.

Garmin just keeps getting better and better…
I’ve been a loyal Garmin user since roughly 2017. I rely solely on Garmin for all of my cycling and running and weightlifting training. I have had numerous forerunner watches over the years and in the last several years I switched to the Fenix7. I now have the Fenix8 And I absolutely love it. It is very stylish and the screen is great and the buttons work great and everything is just so awesome with this watch.
