Lost my 7pro, so I upgraded to the 8MIP. Happy with the features, but battery life has a long way to go. With most settings turned on I only get around 7-9 day.

I bought this watch a month ago. Haven’t fully explored all of it’s features yet, but am loving the ones that I have. On my way to Alaska and looking forward to using the hiking, navigation and kayaking features.

I love everything about this watch. From the battery life to the fitness metrics that it tracks. For starters, I get almost 2 weeks out of the battery. Thats using the gps everyday for hikes, walks, or for golfing. I feel that it keeps better track of your fitness metrics then some other bands. The steps and heart rate are 2 that I track daily. My heart rate is always spot in if I check it manually as well. It has given me confidence to trust the device. The golf app is another thing I use regularly and it is like having a cady with you. From giving you yardage to what the hole actually plays like and club recommendations and the green contours just top it off

Several months in now, this is great. Battery life is great, Wrist heart rate seems accurate, as I often pair with a HRM600 chest strap anyway. Not too bulky, but feels substantial. Very pleased with this watch.

I think if you are upgrading from a previous Fenix version you will be very happy with this watch. I am not upgrading. This was my first Garmin watch. I found the menu system tedious and the need to use multiple mobile phone apps to get most things done was unnecessary. (You need Connect and IQ for most everything and then there are specialty apps.). The first thing I wanted to do was change the watch face from the default. It doesn't come with multiple defaults. You can either spend a lot of time developing your own watch face or you can buy one off the IQ app. The IQ options are not bad, but they all come from third party companies, not Garmin. The terms and conditions of using their watch faces entitles them to view all of the data that is generated from the watch for the lifetime of the watch. If found this unbelievable. It is a Trojan horse that you have to pay for. In general, I really like Garmin and have many of their devices including bike computers and golf monitors. They should have taken the time to make this a great watch. This release is clunky and intrusive.

Upgraded from a descent g1 to the fenix 8 to track my ultra prone paddling, running, and life. The solar extends the battery amazingly when I’m GPS mode. I have an ultra this weekend and i have zero doubt this will perform flawlessly. Absolutely worth the investment

The Fenix 8 solar has a long battery life. I haven't charged it for 2 weeks and the Fenix has 41% still to go. Nice health monitors like HR and Pulse Ox. I am a Lifeguard and feel better that it is rated for deeper water than just a swim.

Voice controls do not work properly. The most annoying bug is the extremely inaccurate altitude measurement. Rest of the functions are okay, but they were also already included in the 7 series

Sturdy and robust design built for the hardships of everyday wear in all conditions. Great fitness tracking, gps, sleep monitoring, and the flashlight is awesome. UI is kind of weird like in most garmin products but the button interface makes it friendlier than most. Best suited for the committed adventurer and athlete. The solar display is less vibrant so watch faces can be a bit dull, the simpler face the better.

If you want a watch that can track any activity and has a battery last for weeks look no further. This watch does it all, with accurate GPS tracking and long battery life it is perfect for my uses. I mainly use it for running and cycling and its amazing. While this has all the bells and whistles it is definetley meant for the more serious consumer. It may be too much for the beginner with the price.

The battery life is great on it, using this watch for all around activities but tracking your runs are great, I love that the screen is pretty much unbreakable and that the bezel doesn’t catch too much light causing glare. Very simple to use out the box, and recommended to set it up on the app for a quicker and easier set up. Don’t think about buying it. Just buy it. Did my research and the cheapest place I found it was on here.

This watch has everything you could want, however the basics are really tough to access. The default setup is basically option overload. This solar watch is also a lot larger and heavier than some of their other models. It doesn’t feel like a good everyday watch and is hard to fit over sleeves of jackets (at least woman’s ones?
