Horrible battery management
This scale is great and accurate. One major issue I have with it is that it goes through the 4 AA batteries once a week.

Poor performance for premium price
Doesn’t turn on consistently without either picking it up or several tries over a couple of minutes. Doesn’t sync well with Garmin app. Skeletal muscle readings vary widely. Occasional Wild readings. Way too much trouble for the cost with limited data compared to competition. The only reason I went with this scale was because of its sync to Garmin app capabilities, but that is very problematic. Also, body fat, skeletal muscle, etc. readings are SO SIGNIFICANTLY different than Dexascan that I can’t rely on them. So, I canWill be returning for refund. Will go back to using my cheap scale that works immediately and consistently, and manually enter weight onto Garmin app.

DO NOT BUY! 0-2 on smart scales.
DO NOT BUY! Let me start with I’m an avid Gamin user, I love my Tactix 8 and the metrics it provides. I wanted to pair my watch with the smart scale to complete my eco system. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with my purchase. Almost immediately I ran into issues with pairing the first smart scale device, forcing the user to connect to WiFi and the connect app is absolutely abysmal for such a simple product. It made the scale freak out and get stuck in pairing mode. So of course I began troubleshooting and rebooting ect. Utilizing all the Garmin support forums/directions and still…… Nothing! So me being a beloved Garmin fan and user i chalked it up to a Lemon scale, no biggie.Technology isn’t full proof. I then exchanged my purchase and retried the process with the new scale. I will say the second time around the device pairing went smoothly. My hopes were high….. then I try to test out the second scale and nothing, darkeness, tap….. tap… tap… it just DOESN'T work. I tried troubleshooting everything AGAIN! Absolutely zero response from the device, new batteries, hard reset, the whole kitchen sink. NOTHING. This experience has made me lose faith in the Garmin brand and software. Save yourself the trouble, skip the smart scale. Please do better Garmin.

Not as smart as advertised.
I bought this about a year ago. I honestly despise it. My weight ranges from 175-180 lbs. I added my wife as a secondary user (she weighs about 113 lbs). She'll weigh herself, then I'll weigh myself, and it will tell me that I've gained 65 lbs overnight. It forgets me periodically, so I'll have to reset it, then it can't find the wifi (router is 10 ft. away). I've deleted it from the Connect app and re-added it probably a dozen times. Nothing smart about this scale. Waste of money and time.

Love it!
An absolute game-changer for tracking my health! I absolutely love the Garmin Index Scale. It has quickly become an essential part of my daily routine. My favorite aspect is easily being able to see where my weight is trending over time rather than just focusing on a single daily number. It takes the guesswork out of my progress and keeps me motivated. The setup was seamless, and it syncs effortlessly with my other devices. I highly recommend this scale to anyone looking to get a clearer, more comprehensive picture of their health and fitness journey!

Scale failed at an early age
This scale stopped working after about a year. It started recording inaccurate weights, off by 40-60 pounds. I followed all of Garmin's trouble shooting guidelines to re-calibrate the scale, such as replacing the batteries, removing the batteries for several days, resetting to factory settings, forgetting the users, and nothing worked. Very disappointed that this expensive device had such a short life,

Very sad experience
In the past 12 months at least 10 times had to install. It is straight forward process still annoying. It measures my bodyfat as 27.2 while I am under 15% by omron or even Inbody… I use other Garmin products they are all good but this one is anything but accurate.

Inaccurate
It’s very inaccurate and it’s hard to find the results on the app. In body scale shows me 17% BF and this scale shows 26%. I was excited for it because I have a garmin watch and wanted to have all the data in one app but I’m not happy about it at all.I’m returning it.

Excellent smart scale
I bought this smart scale to replace another one from a different manufacturer. It fits perfectly into the Garmin lineup. But most importantly, I want to highlight the high quality and beautiful design of this smart scale. I'd also like to point out how easy it is to use.

Only a weight scale
Accurate weight. Uunfortunately that is it. Wished we would not have wasted our money on this and the BP monitor….we love all our many Garmin products - and thought we would love this too. There is nothing remotely accurate about the estimates on bone mass, body fat %, or water weight. (bmi is a joke for the whole industry as it does not account for athletes). This scale is a gimmick. No useful information for Heath or training has come from the scale. Even when my weight decreased by 8-10 pounds (5%) - on purpose - eating very clean whole food only and no starch carbs or sugar - the only other metric that dropped was “bone mass”. That’s just nonsense.

(no review title)
The best part is that the app keeps track of my weight, so I don’t have to log it manually.

Not compatible with our internet
Hello, I am having issues. I was happy to receive this scale. Unfortunately, it is not compatible with my Starlink internet and wi fi. We have tried everything. I already contacted my internet provider. It is not doable. Is it possible to return and be reimbursed? Thank you. Swany Ochoa

Consider using other options.
It tends to disconnect from your app and you will have to disconnect to re-connect, utterly annoying. Consider using another vendor than Garmin. When connected uts ok.

Beyond disappointed and complete waste of time.
This item is garbage, does not work or sync, unlike the previous model. After hours of troubleshooting sadly I choose to return. I own many Garmin products and was replacing my pr ious Garmin scale that had something dropped on it. This will not allow you to even weigh your self out of the box. Will not sync, will not recognize users. When it finally says it’s set up it is not and forgets everything. Very disappointed with this product and does not bode well for continued purchases on the Garmin platform

Great fitness tool
S2 is a super add to my fitness tracking. Paired with my Garmin Forerunner 165 and iPhone I can view and track my fitness trends seamlessly, giving me insight as to how my meal selection impacts different aspects of my health.
