Whenever motion is detected within a range of up to 25 feet, the night light automatically brightens from 3 lumens to 40 lumens, creating enough illumination to safely move about a dim room or hallway. These are very functional especially to help prevent falls at night for elderly. The first one has been plugged in the bathroom for more than 2 years. Had to take some stuff off the counters in the bathroom so the motion sensor wouldn't be blocked from sensing person entering the room. It stays on for 90 sec. We got 2 more after having this one for awhile. We don't have any of them on as nightlights the whole night, just when a person, or a cat, walks past and triggers motion sensor.

These lights have two settings. They are light sensitive and come on when lighting gets dim. They are also motion activated so when you walk by they brighten even more for a minute or two. Really lights up the path. We. moved into a new 2 story home and the stairs and kitchen area are pretty dark. These solved the problem at now. Now I don't worry about people slipping on the stairs or running into something in the dark. Love them. The metal frame makes them look a little more classy than just the plastic, so it's a win win.

i really like the way this nightlight is designed. when plugged into the bottom of a standard outlet, it covers/aligns with the plate perfectly, producing a clean look. i use it in the mode where it is off until it senses motion because it is pretty bright even in the “low” setting. it works for me since i live alone but i could see it being bright enough to disturb someone else depending on where you put it. overall, i’m pleased with it.

the negative reviews are confusing because I own 4 of these and even bought 3 for my elderly mother with no issues of flashing or blinking lights. In fact I am purchasing more for a friend for Christmas as soon as I sunmit this review. Also they last a very long time.

If you walk within 2½ feet of it, this light will cycle on and off rapidly and unpredictably. In motion boost mode, it often takes much longer than the started 90 seconds to return to the dimmer level. Unfortunately, I threw out my receipt so I cannot return it.

Annoying blinking light

Turns on and off quickly and does not keep the light on if you are walking in the dark. Blinks oddly and at odd times. Sometimes does not sense you walking by. Had this for 15 minutes and our family of four all hates it. Disappointed that I wasted my money.

Turns on and off, on and off. Bought another unit, does the same. I have to wave my hand in front of the light for it to stay in for motion. When it works it does the job, deserves a star.

I didn’t like this product because of where the plug was on the back. No matter which direction I hung it it was covering both outlets and that didn’t work for me because I needed to plug something into the other one.

Detects motion before turning on so saves on power. These don't detect motion very well from the side angle but it's okay for where we're using it. I have one at the entry area so we have light when we get home, one in the kitchen for late night bottle refills for the baby, and another in my husband's game room where since we keep the curtain drawn, it provides enough light for when I need to go in something quick (I might add another in the game room on the opposite wall).
The perfect amount of light per plug and very stylish. Unfortunately, it blocks both power outlets when plugged into the wall so you can't plug anything else in that location. Works fine in more modern homes where there's plenty of outlets but not so well in older homes were outlets are a premium. Hopefully, these will last us a long time since they weren't cheap compared to other night light alternatives.
