Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

Poor quality after one wash

I am so sad to say, although this is a very soft and beautiful sweater, it did not hold up well at all andafter its first wash. We purchased it for a Christmas event and after wearing it to church and washing it as directed, it is completely peeling and looks worn and terrible. I am so disappointed that we will have to get another sweater to wear at my daughter's Christmas program. If you get it, save it for the special occasion. I do not recommend purchasing this item.

This sweater was soft and cute, for the first wear. However, it became very pilled by the end of the day, and washing it inside out on gentle did not spare it from further pilling. I had hoped to use it for a few holiday events, but it is now relegated to be a play shirt fire to the poor quality.

I bought all the colors of this design and my daughter only wore the burgundy and it piled up so bad on the arms and bottom area I was confused as to why. It looked like she had rubbed it all on Velcro or something. I came to check reviews and sure enough this is a poor quality and fabric issue. All of these will be going back sadly. My daughter’s going to be sad but I spent $125 on all 5 and I don’t like it looking like trash after a few hours. Target- your quality is deteriorating and it’s disappointing!
