Grande Locking Media Storage - Prepac

Not worth yhe money it was damage from delivery and the second they send me part was damage and alot of parts right also some strew parts wasnt all there i wish they give some of the money back.

I've purchaed Prepac brand shelves and cabinets before and I just cannot believe how bad this item is. There's scratches, scuffs and marks on nearly every single piece- far beyond any small scratches meant to be handled by the included marker. There's also some red paint on one of the doors, no clue from what. The packing foam they use, damaged a few of the pieces and cannot be fixed unless you plan to repaint it. One of the pieces even split while I was nailing in the backboard. Ridiculious that something of such low quality can be sold for $300.

This piece of furniture is perfectly made albeit with a few caveats... Let's be honest...nothing on the market will hold this many blurays/4K movies/even collector edition sets. So with a little work this can become the best blu-ray/4K movie storage (that actually locks correctly) you'll ever have/need. First measure these pieces: (the tall ones) the rear left and right rear slats of wood and the middle piece that separates the left and right front doors. My middle piece was taller by about 1/2 inch...which disallowed both doors to lock/close properly. Even adjusting the lock's screws didn't work. Using a Sander (on the center middle piece) I just sanded the excess wood so it sits just under the top piece of wood when you connect all other pieces using the provided hardware. (about an 1/8 inch up to 1/2inch) Last step is to buy non slip furniture glider adhesives that will push up the weight of the wooden doors once they are filled to capacity. Adhere them (2) rectangular pieces as shown in the picture...you want the inner piece that holds all of the weight...Pictured is the right side door. Now I have perfectly symmetrical doors and they both lock correctly without issue and my unit is filled to capacity.

Good in theory. But horribly designed. The cams on each door line up right with the peg holes for the shelving. So you are forced to either make a taller shelf than you need, or a shorter shelf that won't hold anything. I mean really, it is that hard to offset the cam locks from the peg holes? Arrived with lots of scratches, nicks and other "manufacturing defects". Too much hassle to get replaced. The directions for the "fixed shelves" give options of dvd size or large vhs sizes. When were these made? 2000? Might want to update directions for blu-ray and 4k cases which are smaller. So now we have a bunch of wasted space between shelves, unless I want to take the whole thing apart. Fail.

Holds plenty of dvds, but very poorly engineered. The doors sag once you fill them. I can't swing the door open or shut without lifting almost hard enough to break the cabinet. There's a giant gouge on the base where the door hits it. It also sags so far that it doesn't lock.

Considering the price, it's an OK piece of furniture. It was difficult to put together because the instructions weren't very informative and none of the parts were marked. Some of the holes were too small and a few didn't line up the way they should. There are no predrilled holes for the locking mechanisms.
