Q: Is this lawn mower includes the grass catcher? Or we need to buy separate?

Q: I was really surprised and disappointed at the amount of power that I got out of this. I saw that I could cut half an acre, I barely have a 10th of an acre and the battery was on its last gasp. I was running the mower on the mulch setting.

submitted by Danniah - 4 months ago
  • A: Hi Danniah. Thank you for your post. Our Greenworks 24v/48v units are designed for small residential lawns. While, using the mulching function on a lawnmower can require more power, this is because the blades need to work harder to finely chop the grass into mulch. This is why it is important to select a lawn mower that can best meet your lawn care needs. Should you wish to discuss any concerns, have any further questions, or require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. We can be reached through live chat or give us a call at our toll-free helpline at 1-888-90-WORKS (888.909.6757) to speak with a live agent. We hoped this helped!

Q: Can I purchase and use 40v batteries ? Or even 60? Will they work with this mower and will they work with this charger?

submitted by Stormy - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi Stormy. Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, no. Each voltage line (24V, 40V, 60V and 80V) has a set of tools that are only interchangeable within the same voltage platform. A 40V battery will work in any 40V unit, it will not work in a 24V, 60V, or 80V unit. Only Greenworks batteries, chargers and machines of the same voltage are compatible and interchangeable with one another. We hope this information helped!

Q: I can't get it to actually cut the grass very much. I go very tall thin weeds that come out the other end undamaged. Any advice before I return it?

submitted by BuD - 1 year ago
  • A: Hi BuD. Thank you for your post. We recommend trimming the weeds prior to mowing your lawn with a string trimmer/weed eater. This will allow for a more even cut. You may also want to check the blades to ensure there is no debris, and ensure you are cutting when the grass is dry. For more mowing tips, please check out https://www.greenworkstools.com/blogs/greenworks-blog. We hope this helped!

Mower Itself Is Great Battery Life Is Still Issue

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, I’m happy with the mower in every aspect other than the battery life. I bought the mower based on my yard size and the only way I can get through with a single cut is not use the self propel and when it’s dry season where the grass is dry. Currently in summer I have to cut 1/2 of the yard, break and charge the battery for 30 min while I edge trim as the lush grass kills the battery and the mower strains to cut. I also cut weekly so it’s not like the grass is long. I thought about buying a pair of back batteries but the batteries costs as much as the mower. The idea of electric mower is great, the quality is decent.

Hello Kai69. Thank you for sharing your experience with the 48V (2x24V) 21" Cordless Battery Self-Propelled Lawn Mower. We are glad to hear that you are satisfied with the mower’s overall quality and design. We understand your frustration with the battery life, especially during the summer when grass is thick and lush. Battery performance can vary depending on factors like grass height, moisture, and terrain, so it is not uncommon to see shorter run times under heavier loads. We realize that replacing or adding extra batteries can be costly, and we appreciate your perspective. Your feedback is valuable, and we will share it with our product team as we continue to improve battery performance and overall mower experience. Thank you again for taking the time to provide detailed feedback. If you ever have specific questions or concerns about our products, contact Greenworks via Live chat on our website (www.greenworkstools.com), call us at 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS) or refer to the FAQ ask section of the tool or ask us a question, anytime.

Cuts grass easily that my previous 40v mower choked on. Has LED headlights, self-propel, and a steel deck for a solid gas mower feel. Important to clean underside after every mow so grass doesn’t build up. Highly recommended. Get a manual blade sharpener and keep the blade nice and sharp after every few mows. Batteries readily available at reasonable prices if you look around.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this lawn mower about a month ago and, so far, have been very pleased with my experience. The variable self propelled feature allows the mower to climb a 45 degree incline with ease. The large wheels and manual control cut under shrubs and other awkward areas with less stress than I anticipated --- especially with its hefty ~80lbs.

Hello Higgs. We understand you are not happy with your warranty period. A warranty is a promise made by us the manufacturer that the product will have a guarantee to be useable within the time frame from the date of purchase, full details warranty policy can be found in the user manual or on our website, www.greenworkstools.com. In some cases, we make an exception by using the serial number, in this case we would not be able to use the serial number as it exceeds the warranty period as well, please note that making this exception goes beyond our responsibility as the manufacturer, we do this as courtesy. All companies on the market have a warranty period and policy in place. We at Greenworks like any other brand, have a warranty procedure we must adhere to for warranty claims and their timelines. Greenworks 48V line is backed by a three-year tool limited & three-year battery warranty which is more than double industry standard. This means you’ve got a little protection on your investment. It also makes a statement on how much Greenworks stands behind their products. We are sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing. However, the warranty period has passed, and without proof of purchase, we are unable to process warranty claims. We understand this may be disappointing, but we appreciate your understanding.

Build quality is good, but after one use things are rattling. Battery life is bad. I fully charged the batteries before I used them. I have about 1/4 acre and flat. The batteries barely lasted. Charged them for the second use, same results. Had to reset the charger because it wouldn't charge the batteries. The charger was flashing red with no batteries in it. Best to get another set of batteries but batteries are too expensive. Better off getting off brand batteries, they are made in the same factory as the Greenworks batteries.
1 reply from Greenworks Tools team - 3 months ago
Hello Ok. We are sorry to hear about your experience. A flashing red light on a Greenworks charger, even with no battery inserted, can indicates a fault or a reset issue. The charger could be detecting a problem within the charging circuit itself, not necessarily with the battery. We suggest trying the follow steps. [1] Reset the charger, unplug the charger for a few minutes (10-15 minutes) and then plug it back in. This can sometimes clear out a temporary fault. [2] Check the power source, ensure the power outlet is working and providing adequate power to the charger. If the issue continues, we recommend contacting our customer support team for assistance with properly submitting a warranty claim. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, accessible by clicking “Chat with an Expert” in the bottom corner of your screen, Chat with a Live Agent I Monday - Friday: 9:30am – 5pm EST or by calling 1-888-909-6757 between 9AM and 7PM EST, M-F. I was really surprised the battery power was so inefficient. Well all of the documentation stated it would cover half an acre, it barely had enough for the 10th of an acre that I needed to mow.
1 reply from Greenworks Tools team - 4 months ago
Hello Danniah. We are sorry to hear you are not fully happy with the runtime you are getting with the battery included. As we are not sure of the condition of your lawn, we are not exactly sure why the battery did not meet your expectations. The maximum runtime often applies to a relatively flat, open yard. Slopes and obstacles require more power, and users can expect running time to be less, if this is the case. Runtime measurements are also related to the condition of the grass and if it is well-maintained. Tall, thick grass requires more power, and you must mow it slower, consuming added runtime. Using self-propelled, throughout the mow. Self-propelled mowers do use more batteries than standard push mowers as more power is being demanded from the battery to run the blades and the wheels. Here are a few tips to ensure the max runtime is achieved. Ensure you charge the battery fully before each use, maintain the battery properly by cleaning terminals, avoid extreme temperatures during storage. Mow in a straight line and only use the self-propelled feature when needed. If the grass has been left to exceed four inches, we advise that you raise the cutting height and cut no more than one-third of the length of grass at a time, wait a couple of days and do another one-third, cut when grass is dry and walk at steady pace to allow the blade to work more efficiently. As the lawn becomes consistently maintained you will see the cut and runtime improve. Hope these tips help! If you ever have specific questions or concerns about our products, contact Greenworks via Live chat on our website (www.greenworkstools.com), call Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934 or refer to the FAQ ask section of the tool or ask us a question, anytime

Trying to cut my grass with this lawnmower is worse than using a pair of scissor. It doesn't cut well nor move easily over flat surfaces. If there is any uneven surface no matter how small the wheels just spin. SAVE YOUR MONEY
1 reply from Greenworks Tools team - 4 months ago
Hello Anna. We ae sorry to hear about your experience. If your Greenworks lawn mower is not cutting well, the issue is likely a combination of factors, starting with the blade's condition and the mower's overall setup. Ensure the blade is properly installed, and that the cutting height is suitable for your grass. Also, check the battery charge and clean under the mower deck for debris. If you have tried and check the troubleshooting suggestions and the problem persists, please contact support through Live Chat on Greenworks Tools website or call 1-888-909-6757 (1-888-90WORKS). So, our experts can discuss your experience; please have your unit, battery and charger with you along with the model and serial number to complete troubleshooting to ensure a quick resolution is provided.
