Q: I was really surprised and disappointed at the amount of power that I got out of this. I saw that I could cut half an acre, I barely have a 10th of an acre and the battery was on its last gasp. I was running the mower on the mulch setting.

Q: Can I purchase and use 40v batteries ? Or even 60? Will they work with this mower and will they work with this charger?

A: Hi Stormy. Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, no. Each voltage line (24V, 40V, 60V and 80V) has a set of tools that are only interchangeable within the same voltage platform. A 40V battery will work in any 40V unit, it will not work in a 24V, 60V, or 80V unit. Only Greenworks batteries, chargers and machines of the same voltage are compatible and interchangeable with one another. We hope this information helped!

Q: I can't get it to actually cut the grass very much. I go very tall thin weeds that come out the other end undamaged. Any advice before I return it?

A: Hi BuD. Thank you for your post. We recommend trimming the weeds prior to mowing your lawn with a string trimmer/weed eater. This will allow for a more even cut. You may also want to check the blades to ensure there is no debris, and ensure you are cutting when the grass is dry. Build quality is good, but after one use things are rattling. Battery life is bad. I fully charged the batteries before I used them. I have about 1/4 acre and flat. The batteries barely lasted. Charged them for the second use, same results. Had to reset the charger because it wouldn't charge the batteries. The charger was flashing red with no batteries in it. Best to get another set of batteries but batteries are too expensive. Better off getting off brand batteries, they are made in the same factory as the Greenworks batteries.

Hello Ok. We are sorry to hear about your experience. A flashing red light on a Greenworks charger, even with no battery inserted, can indicates a fault or a reset issue. The charger could be detecting a problem within the charging circuit itself, not necessarily with the battery. We suggest trying the follow steps. [1] Reset the charger, unplug the charger for a few minutes (10-15 minutes) and then plug it back in. This can sometimes clear out a temporary fault. [2] Check the power source, ensure the power outlet is working and providing adequate power to the charger. I was really surprised the battery power was so inefficient. Well all of the documentation stated it would cover half an acre, it barely had enough for the 10th of an acre that I needed to mow.

As we are not sure of the condition of your lawn, we are not exactly sure why the battery did not meet your expectations. The maximum runtime often applies to a relatively flat, open yard. Slopes and obstacles require more power, and users can expect running time to be less, if this is the case. Runtime measurements are also related to the condition of the grass and if it is well-maintained. Tall, thick grass requires more power, and you must mow it slower, consuming added runtime. Using self-propelled, throughout the mow. Self-propelled mowers do use more batteries than standard push mowers as more power is being demanded from the battery to run the blades and the wheels. Here are a few tips to ensure the max runtime is achieved. Ensure you charge the battery fully before each use, maintain the battery properly by cleaning terminals, avoid extreme temperatures during storage. Mow in a straight line and only use the self-propelled feature when needed. If the grass has been left to exceed four inches, we advise that you raise the cutting height and cut no more than one-third of the length of grass at a time, wait a couple of days and do another one-third, cut when grass is dry and walk at steady pace to allow the blade to work more efficiently. As the lawn becomes consistently maintained you will see the cut and runtime improve. Hope these tips help! Trying to cut my grass with this lawnmower is worse than using a pair of scissor. It doesn't cut well nor move easily over flat surfaces. If there is any uneven surface no matter how small the wheels just spin. SAVE YOUR MONEY

My first mower broke, the self propel just stopped working, so they sent me another one. Less than 2 years this one is dead, wont start. I have purchased a lot of Greenworks products and I swear I want a refund for all of them and I will send them back.

I have owned and enjoyed a battery powered lawn mower for several years. The ease of use, maintenance and power, in my opinion, is much better than a gasoline powered mower. This is my third Greenworks mower. The first being 10 years old is still working perfectly. I needed a self propelled mower for my hilly yard, so I started to research new mowers. I first bought a top line Greenworks mower and didn’t like it as it was heavy and difficult to maneuver around trees. Meanwhile Target sent me an offer for this Greenworks mower for half the price of the mower I just purchased. I decided to give it a try and I am extremely pleased with this mower. It is much lighter, but still solidly built, and easily maneuvers around trees. The cut quality is good, the 24v batteries are easier to handle and work in my string trimmer. Note, I don’t always use the self-propelled feature and this mower works like a regular push mower too. I do recommend buying two additional batteries for additional mowing time. Another great feature is the self-propelled feature can be used when the mower blade is off. Overall this is a great mower

Greenworks makes some great lawnmowers but the limited warranty really bites the bullet. If you need parts you'll have a really hard time getting through to them. Mower is likely to break down because of something not covered by the warranty or it will break down right after the warranty expires.

I bought this mower with the two 5.0 aH batteries. They are supposed to last 'up to 45 minutes'. What a joke. I have mowed my lawn three times now and this is what I get. Fully charged lasts about 16 minutes, not enough to do my entire yard. I charge they to full again (in the dual slot charger this takes over two hours, not the 75 minutes that is claimed) and try to finish. Next charge lasts about 10 minutes. Still not done with my lawn. On the third attempt I barely finish what should easily be done an one charge. I can only think that your advertising is deceptive. If I needed a stronger battery I would have bought those instead of what came with the mower. As it is, it is pretty much worthless.

The mower itself worked well, but after one use a battery just quit working. It won't charge at all. I tried to call company, after 20 minute wait I tried the callback but never received a call from them. So disappointing but I'll be taking the entire mower back to Target.

I just used for the first time today. I live in Michigan and normally we do not mow until the end of April at the earliest. I have under an acre and use an electric riding mower for the bulk, but also do quite a large area with a push mower. I was shocked how much I mowed and still have 1 bar left on each battery. It more than surpassed what I was expecting. It's very easy to use and I love the self-propel feature; my first mower with it. It's super quiet and I love that it folds up easy. I couldn't be happier that I purchased this and I did a ton of research before I picked this one.

My Wife and Son got me the combo package for Father's Day, mower, blower, and trimmer. All three do exactly what they were designed to do. Now I am being "Picky" I wish the trimmer was variable speed: they have excellent Customer Service and a happy customer.
