- The GROSCHE Austin G6 is dishwasher safe, but we recommend hand washing the glass components to ensure they are not damaged accidentally in the dishwasher. For the reusable stainless steel coffee filter, we recommend washing it in the dishwasher on the bottom rach, or by hand with a sponge and some dish soap. This will keep the filter free flowing and remove any coffee oil residue that may build up over time.
- Can brew up to 34 fl oz. of coffee, which is enough for 3-4 cups at a time. Since it's a pour over coffee maker, it's best paired with gooseneck water kettle (not included with Austin G6) that will allow you to control the pour of water into the coffee maker. Controlling how the water is poured into the coffee maker will help you fine tune the flavor just the way you like it. This manual brewing method is highly engaging, and rewarding with rich and very smooth flavors being extracted from your favorite coffee beans.

Q: What is the best way to clean the filter? We love this coffee maker and initially the water went through easily but not its clogged and it seems to be clogged. Please advise.

A: Hi ,.We suggest giving your filter a thorough clean with a sponge and a good quality detergent. Once you have done that, boil it again for another 30 minutes. It sounds as though some of the oils may be trapped. Once it has cooled down, soak your filter (over night) in detergent- this should help release the oils that may be built up. If this doesn't work and you have hard water, try using CLR-letting it sit over night. For future use, rinse and thoroughly wash your filter immediately after every use to prevent any clogging. Make sure you are using coarse ground coffee as finer grinds will clog the filter.

Q: Inside the stainless steel filter, there is another layer feels like silk kind of fabric, what material exactly is this second thin layer/mesh? Is there any glue used with this inner mesh? Thank you.

HORRIBLE FILTER
GROSCHE PERMANANT FILTER TURNS TO TRASH. This company should state DO NOT GRIND YOUR OWN COFFEE AND USE IN THIS FILTER. This filter plugs up easily, I have many, this one does not clean well. Putting in dishwasher and boiling does not help. The manufacturer's website says I have ruined my filter. Coffee tastes old. Have other stainless filter than clean up well. This is an overpriced carafe with a bad filter. Thought I was buying something I could use forever.

It's better to have loved and lost
I made the best coffee of my life for 1 week. It really is a game changer. Then I knocked the carafe off the counter. Thankfully, the filter sits nicely right in my glass mug and I can still make excellent brew. I have an email out to the manufacturer requesting options for a new carafe. So we’ll see. Regardless, I will always remember that one glorious week. Rox

Bad design and fabrication.
Too expensive to be this fragile. Poor base design adds to its lack of stability. One slight bump and it’s trash. Very upset.

The answer to my problems!
I love the fact that the filter is so fine that I get little to no slug in my coffee, it’s easy to clean and easy to use. I’m definitely glad I took a chance on buying this. It’s economically and environmentally friendly while still producing quality coffee!

Sturdy
I like this coffee maker since it's sturdy and made out of glass and stainless steel. I like the grip and not concerned with it slipping out of my hand while I'm pouring the coffee. It's easy to wash and makes great coffee.

Chemix like - Great tasting coffee
This makes good tasting clean coffee compared to my french press. It's also a ton easier to clean. I'm used to gritty/muddy coffee from my french press - and while its decent, I needed something that tasted cleaner. This does exactly that - I've used a chemix in the past and this is exactly the same. Washing it is also a breeze, the reusable mesh filter also is wonderful - No need for paper filters!

This is a combination of sturdiness and elegance. I love how pretty it is and how easy it is to clean. Although the glass feels lightweight, it feels well/made and like it will last a long time. I have had no issues with it.

Great Pour Over Maker..
I love this pot more and more every day. The first week was a test run with it. What I do is 1/4 cup beans and 2 (measuring) cups of water. This gives me two 10oz cups of coffee. I love how it looks on my counter and I can make some pretty good coffee! You don't need to spend a lot to get a great cup of coffee.

Nice coffee maker
Nice product, easy to use and clean. Made from Borosilicate glass to prevent cracking in heat. Note: ensure your water is at the correct temperature before pouring on the coffee. The brewing temperature of the water used is very important. It should be between 195 F (91 C) and 205 F (96 C). The closer to 205 F (96 C) the better. Let boiled water rest 5 minutes before pouring.

Good Extraction. Full and Rich Taste.
This pour over coffee maker provides a good extraction. The coffee I made with this pour over tasted very full and rich which I thoroughly enjoyed. I also really like how replacement filters are not needed as the metal filter is reusable. There isn't much to dislike about this item.

very happy with this purchase
I love this pour-over coffee maker. I switched from the electric coffee maker to pour-over coffee maker cause I heard that the pour-over coffee maker retains the coffee flavor better. And guess what!! Yes, the flavor from the coffee is so much better now. I really like this. Moreover, I don't have to deal with coffee residue that builds inside the electric coffee maker. It is very easy to clean. though I will recommend buying a long-handled sponge brush for cleaning. Besides, I have reduced paper waste after starting to use this coffee maker since I don't need to use a paper filter anymore. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase.

nice and convenient coffee maker
My hubby and I love drinking coffee. We always try to find new ways to make coffee. We have several different equipments and excited to try this one. They turned out great. It was easy to use and clean. The coffee came out pretty smooth no grounds filtered down to the cup. We enjoyed using this so far.

Great to have one
I love this pot. It looks great - mine is always out because I use it every day and consistently get compliments - and it's easy to use (and dishwasher safe!). Additionally, these are going to be the only pots I buy going forward - for myself and as gifts. I couldn't have been happier with my pot and then, they combined a great product with outstanding customer service.
