Knowing how to solve logic puzzles is a great life skill to learn young. But this game is good for all ages. It makes playing board games with young kids more enjoyable (at least for me) because you too are working on the mystery. Good game and definitely recommend.
A great for the whole family

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m not a fan of deduction games because it’s hard for me to focus on reading all the rules let alone playing this sort of game but the instructions were easy enough for me to follow and even easier for my 9 year old. I really liked the whole set up of the game and how there were so many ways to go about narrowing down the culprit. There were maps, personal files on each suspect, employee work schedules, photos, calendars, footprint deciphering with a mirror, mug shots, and of course the key to unlock the truth! At first my daughter and I teamed up and played together and then once we got the hang of the game we played against each other seeing who could unlock the truth first and once my husband joined us we played using the point system. All three ways of playing were so much fun! My daughter loves this game and enjoyed playing by herself which was an added plus for us! There are only nine outcomes total for this game so it’s a bummer that once you go through all nine outcomes it’s pretty much over but you can add in the points challenge. I researched and saw that there are other “The Key” games and we are definitely buying them, that’s how much we enjoyed this one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very well themed, well made, and fun family logic game! We love all the little details put into this that make it extra fun. It is an investigation game where you use cards and cross reference then to solve the “who done it” in as few of cards as possible. It has a very high replay-ability as even once you have done a case if you played it again you wouldn’t remember and would have to use new card clues to solve it. This is a much more involved deduction game than clue and is a really fun next step. Solving clues using heights, weights, maps etc really makes you feel like a detective! There is a clever number code you use to see if you solved it correctly with a cute wooden key that my kids love. It took a little explanation through the first time with my 8 year old but she picked it up very quickly and loved it. This game is fun, well themed, and challenging in a great way.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] In this house, we love llamas, so I had high hopes for The Key: Sabotage at Lucky Llama Land. If you like deduction games, this one nails it. This is great to build deductive reasoning skills for the kids. They love it, and we play it weekly now.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really fun family game! Ages 8+, I agree to an extent with the age though with my 8 & 9 year old it took a little more explaining. Though our family LOVES mystery and crime style games, shows, and activities in general. It is fun to be able to do the investigation and there are so many ways the game can play out so it is not going to cause you to stop having fun after playing it a couple times. You can play alone or with 4 people and it isn’t a long game though the first time trying to follow directions and explain to the children took quite a bit longer. It is fun to be able to know secrets that others don’t know and everyone can get different clues to lead to different conclusions. The game is very color coded fun and once you get the hand of it all it is a blast to play with family! I highly suggest this for the next family game night!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This detective game has a fun twist. It has investigation, photos, codes and our kids really like it. They played it as soon as it arrived and it kept them busy for quite awhile. Good board game! We recommend it but it would be better if more than could play at a time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids and I played this and were so engrossed in it! It made us all put down our phones and turn off the tv and just go all in on the game. We really enjoyed it so much, surprisingly, and would love to try another game similar to this one. My daughter is 19 and my son is 12 but we ALL had a good time playing it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are always excited to try a new game and this one did not disappoint. The theming is really neat and it gives a good back story. Pros: 1. It has a great back story 2. You can play this over and over again 3. Very colorful and bright 4. Comes with everything you need to play Cons 1. The instructions can be a little confusing at first 2. The dry erase markers don't erase completely on the board you use 3. The clues with the photo spots are really confusing 4. The footprint clues are very confusing as some of the cards look like they have all correct shoeprints. Overall, this is a very fun game to play. You have to use your brain and think about each one. You have to figure out who sabotaged which ride with which weapon. Make sure you only choose the clues associated with your color key or else you will get incorrect clues (happened to my wife). Again, this is a game that you can play over and over again. We have played three times and have already forgotten the codes to each one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Our family really enjoys this game! It’s fun to explore the clues and try to solve the sabotages. We especially like that it focuses on efficiency vs. just speed. The game is fairly complex, and kids on the younger side of the age range may need a little help getting started (our youngest daughter who is nearly 8 needed a bit of help). The game itself seems to be very high quality, and the instructions are helpful and thorough. Overall, we are very happy with this game!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just got this game and me, my husband, and our 2 kids had such a fun time playing it! It’s a little complicated and lots of different matters to take into account, so we played on teams with an adult on each team. It was so fun! I’m not sure you can play it more than 10 times thought because by then you’ll already know all the answer permutations. Highly recommend this for anyone looking to have a fun family game night!

This is a great logic game. There are no turns, while there is a small bonus for the fastest player, the game really encourages each player to go at their own pace. This creates a really fun atmosphere of everyone trying to be the best sleuth, rather than everyone mad-dashing to try and have the fastest answer. I had success teaming up with a younger child and didn't lose out on any fun myself. It's good for deductive reasoning and critical thinking. Everyone at the tables enjoyed playing.
