Q: My unit's fan keep running even after desired humidity level was reached although compressor is stopped. Is it normal, or should unit fully stop after reaching the level?

A: Hi there, thanks for reaching out. When using a dehumidifier, if not set in the Continuous Mode or Non-stop Mode, the compressor will turn off when it reaches the set relative humidity level. Q: How big is the bucket capacity? How much can it fill up before needing to be emptied?

Q: Hello, I read an earlier question about using hose, does this Haier 20 Pint Dehumidifier come with a hose attachment or does Haier offer one at an additional charge? If not is there a standard size that would be proper to use?

A: Hi there, and thanks for your interest in this dehumidifier! We know how important having the option to drain through a hose is, and are glad to advise. At this time the model does not have a specific hose attachment included or for separate purchase. We regret any inconvenience this may cause, but the model was designed to fit a standard garden hose. A garden hose can simply be threaded onto the nozzle, cut to length and lead to the floor drain. The unit drains by gravity, so we recommend cutting it as short as possible and laying it flat on the ground leading to a floor drain. Details of setting it up to drain are available in the Use and Care manual as well. We hope this information is helpful, and are glad to assist with any other inquiries or concerns you may have. Q: Does this have a auto shutoff to avoid an overflow of the receptacle?

The Water Level Control Switch shuts off the dehumidifier when the bucket is full, or when the bucket is removed and/or not replaced in the proper position. We hope you've found this to be helpful. Q: Does this allow you to set at the humidity level you want and it will auto shut off once it reaches that level and auto turn on when it goes up?

This dehumidifier removes 20 pints of water from the air in 24 hours and is ideal for use in damp rooms up to 60% Relative Humidity. A space with a damp moisture level feels damp and has musty odor only in humid weather. The location of the unit is important in properly sizing a dehumidifier. Assuming a standard 8 ft. ceiling, the recommended area for this model would be a room up to approximately 400 square feet. ---- If your intended room is larger than this or has a damper moisture level, you may want to consider the similar QDHR50LZ 50 Pint Dehumidifier model which can service rooms up to 1000 square feet. I read all the instructions prior to use. Product worked for 24 hours and not works for 10mins and stops. And yes, the tank is not filled with water.

This unit does work to pull humidity out of the air; however, the unit's humidity sensor does not work well. If I set it to 50%, it runs and runs until it is well below 40%. If I set it at 55, it does not come on until actual humidity passes 60%. So it either never stops running or never starts running. It also adds a lot of heat to a room.

Here are some suggestions that could help with this situation: -The area/room may be too large for the capacity of the dehumidifier; check to make sure your dehumidifier is the proper one for your room size and humidity level. -Make sure the unit has proper air flow and that no curtains, blinds, or furniture blocking the front or back of the dehumidifier. -Clean the filter, since a clogged filter can restrict airflow. Also, it is normal for the surrounding air to become slightly warmer as the dehumidifier operates. The dehumidifier also puts out warm air while operating, which is normal. PROs: pulls moisture out of the air. Compact unit. Easily mobile with casters. Not too ugly. Filter very easy to clean. Cord storage. CONs: rated for 1500sq feet but can’t keep up with 400. VERY LOUD. Unit rattles and vibrates, motor hums, noise reads at nearly 70 decibels at times. Unable to dim very bright LED controls. Never gets below 50 RPH in a 1BR Apt. Reservoir very difficult and awkward to remove, often catches, causing water to splash everywhere

Bought as a supplementary humidifier for house and basement that was recently finished. Worked well with limited use in the first year, however was a bit noisy (from what I can see is a design flaw with the plastic casing rattling on components). After the first summer, I plug it in and similar to others appears to work fine and is drawing air but the compressor is not working correctly, not drawing any moisture out of the air, and additionally the coils rusted. It was not kept in a high moisture area (always kept 45% RH or less). Loss of $150+, whereas other brand from 7+ years ago is still kicking along fine.

the dehumidifier worked great for a while, but now it blows HOT air whenever it runs for an extended period of time and doesn’t shut off when it reaches my set humidity, which it also used to do fine.

Hello - Thanks for bringing this to our attention. The air filter behind the rear grille should be checked and cleaned at least every 250 hours of operation or more often if necessary. This could be the reason why your unit is blowing hot air. Also, if your a/c runs an extended time then the area that needs to be dehumidified may be too large. This product was good--for the single year it lasted. Then the next summer, the fan and controls would work, but it didn't draw a single drop of moisture from the air. Looks like the freon may have leaked. Very shoddy product. What's worse is that when we tried to make a claim with our credit card (we have a card that gives us an extra year warranty), we lost the receipt--my fault, I know--and Target was unable/unwilling to print the old receipt out. It's 2023, right? I guess I made my last purchase from Target for a while.

At first, it was really loud and I also noticed that when I read quite a few reviews. Today I took the wheels off, and it runs perfectly, not loud at all!! Would highly recommend placing it on a hard surface with no wheels on so that it doesn’t jiggle at all, which significantly reduces the noise level! Now it’s awesome!!

We know not being able to use the dehumidifier’s various settings would be frustrating, and we regret any inconvenience caused. We want to help. If the control panel isn’t working at all, you may want to disconnect the unit from power for a couple minutes before reconnecting; this resets the electrical components and may help. Checking the fuse or circuit breaker to ensure enough power is reaching the unit is also recommended. If it might be helpful, the manual does have troubleshooting tips on page 10; if you’d like to view that, you can do so on our Haier Appliances website when you look up the model number and go to the product page. The manual does also have information on the limited warranty on page 12, if you’re unable to resolve this and need to take advantage of the warranty. We hope this is helpful. the item would have been awesome had it worked. the iten I received looked like it fell from a 3 story building. I honestly can't believe I opened it thinking it would just be the exterior box that was severely damaged, I was wrong. there was a gash in the top of the dehumidifier big enough to fit a Cadillac. plugged it in figuring why not and...nothing. the only good thing is target took it back!

This humidifier is one of the best I’ve owned. The size is perfect for my bedroom and bathroom. It’s a little noisy on the high setting, but the low setting isn’t that bad. I tried others, but this one can pull much faster. I purchased one a few months ago and just purchased another. The only thing I would change is having an easier way to open the water bin.

I keep my AC up 2-3 degrees higher now because of this thing. My master bedroom gets so hot after 2pm because big windows and humidity coming in somewhere. I live in FL. This dehumidifier if ran on high will remove 22 pints of water from the air per day. Now I have it on smart dry so it just turns on as needed. I know it’s an expensive, unexpected purchase but it’s worth every dollar. My wife and I are so much more comfortable now and I’m hoping not having to turn the ac on blast all day will lower energy bill.
