Q: What is the reservoir capacity? Under specifications it says volume/capacity is 11.8 gallons - that is too high. Reviews say empty 3-4 x a day. How much water stored before unit shuts off?

Pro - it works well. Cons - the water collector is hard to perfectly line up when you put it back, the buttons are confusing, there’s no nighttime setting to turn the light display off at night, when its full the light is sometimes green and sometimes red hence the confusing buttons. I would not but again.

Small but mighty
For the price, this was a good purchase. The unit effectively draws humidity from the air. In this recent tropical weather, we have to empty it four times a day. We did place the unit on a mini fridgr and connect a drainage hose to a gallon water jug on the floor, but very little water is diverting through that hose. It has made the climate in our unairconditioned kitchen much more pleasant.

Not great for me needs
The good: Pulls in air and moisture very well, but the tank is tiny. I like the ability to set the moisture level, and I also like the quiet mode. I could feel a difference in the house while it was running, which was great. The bad: I live in the northern part of the south with some high humidity, and I have to empty the tank twice a day and once at night. The tank is hard to get out of the unit without spilling when it is full. It comes with a hose to let the water run out, but this means setting the unit up on furniture so water will run out of the hose, which defeats the purpose of it being on wheels, or not using the hose and relying on the small tank. I also have had to siphon the air out through the hose, which was unpleasant. Overall: I will likely be returning it to Target on my next time to the store.

Don't let the size full you. It's compact but WOW can this beauty dry the air! Our living room/kitchen windows were soaked in the mornings; winter/cold. Mold/mildew was growing around the baseboards. The moisture immediately dropped a lot. After a few days use there was usually just a slight film of moisture. Eventually, they were totally dry. Maybe once every 1-2 weeks is there any moisture at all. Usually only in the kitchen as the sink drys out. I was shocked how much water was in it every morning, almost 2 beer bottles ;) of water. A few times it was full to the top !! Supposed to have an auto-stop function so maybe it did. During rains it's usually halfull. Our place is smallish. ~450 sg ft. Anyway, don't hesitate to pull the trigger. I saw 31/31 5 star ratings when I purchased it. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. I set the timer to 5 hours as I go to bed while it's still on. As the weather improved I now set it to 4 hours. Did some math and estimated electricity around $.50 for 5 hours. Very close as our bill went up ~$15. Not having soaking windows and mold growing .... priceless !!

Compact and quiet
The dehumidifier is tiny. One advantage is that the photos make it look larger than it actually is. You would think it would be a little noisy given its little size, but it isn’t at all. In fact, it’s peaceful and calm. Until it’s time to empty the water reservoir storage tank, you won’t even be aware that it exists. How frequently you need to clear it out will depend on how humid your surroundings are. Check the tank at least twice a day to see how frequently it has to be emptied in order to obtain a better idea and prevent any messes.
