Q: If you remove the bucket before it’s full, will the unit automatically shut off?

A: The compressor will turn off when the bucket is removed. The fan may continue to run for a couple of minutes, but will shortly turn off. It is normal for some residual water still in the system to drip down after the bucket has been removed. Hope this helps! Thank you, TCL Customer Support

A: All our current dehumidifiers should turn off once they reach the RH level. There will be a 3 to 5 RH% variance. The compressor should turn off, followed by the fan, after a short period of meeting the target relative humidity(RH%). The dehumidifier measures humidity at the sensor inside the unit, not the center of the room. If the air near the sensor is still above 60%, the unit will continue to run. A: It may make sense to run both a window AC and a dehumidifier, depending on the situation. If the area you're trying to cool is very humid, a dehumidifier can definitely help. However, there are a few important considerations: Ideally, you’d want to run the dehumidifier on cooler days or overnight, since it generates some heat while operating. Also, keep in mind that both the AC and dehumidifier consume a lot of power, so they must be plugged into separate circuits to avoid overloading your electrical system. Hope this helps! Q: How do you use the “continuous drain” in the smaller unit? After attaching the garden hose, is there a button or switch? How does the dehumidifier know not to turn off when the tank is almost full?

A: Press the Down arrow until “CO” is displayed, which sets the unit to Continuous Mode. If a garden hose is attached, the dehumidifier will remain in continuous mode. You can also use the timer function if you’d like the unit to turn off after a specific period. If draining into the bucket, the unit will shut off once the float indicates the bucket is full. Do not buy!!
I purchased this July 2024. By August 2025 it stopped working completely, it comes on but just blows air and does not collect any water at all. Problem with the air compressor I’m guessing. Piece of garbage if it cannot last longer than a year. Warranty is only available for one year. For the price of this product it is not worth it at all!! Buy at your own risk!

Not worth buying.
I bought this on 5/1/2025 and it stopped working in August 2025. Informed TCL on 9/12/2025. Customer service duplicated questions in the operating instructions, Had eight communications with no resolution, just repeat of questions. Cannot find out how to have the unit serviced.

Disappointed with TCL
I purchased this unit July 2024 and used for 3 months in 2024 and then when we returned in May of 2025 and wanted to start using the unit again in July 2025 the unit does not work. We tried all of the troubleshooting without any luck. Unfortuantely the 1-year warranty had passed. I purchased a TCL because I have had very good luck with the TCL Roku Tvs. I'm disappointed that I only was able to use this unit for 3 months.

Way too hot
I would only recommend it for cold basements. This thing blows out incredibly hot air. I had it on for less than 5 min and it made the room 5 degrees hotter. Brought down the humidity from 65% to 62% percent in that short of time too, so there’s that. The heat it puts off is not worth the dehumidification to me.

This thing is a beast.
I bought the TCL 25pint 2000sq ft dehumidifier yesterday. Last night I put it in my basement last night and the tank was full this morning. I've emptied this tank twice and I'm only 14 hours in. It connects to Alexa too.

Doesnt drain with hose atfached
I bought a drain hose to plug into the back of the dehumidifer to drain directly into the sump pump instead of emptying the bucket in the basement every day. It wouldn’t drain through the hose and water kept filling the bucket. Called TCL customer support and was just told to return it to the store I bought it. Definitely not buying this one again.

Too loud, blows hot air
Even on the low setting, it’s too loud. I can’t get past the buzzing sound. It seems to lower the humidity, but it blows hot air and makes the room noticeably warmer.
