Halloween Craft Mosaic Pumpkin Trivet Kit - Mondo Llama™

My daughter (4yo) and I really enjoyed this craft. It was nice that the pattern was engraved into the wooden trivet. So we followed the picture as a guidance and it worked out great! Nice fall craft/momento.

It is so simple to make. And the result turns out great too. I wait overnight for mosaic to get dried. Doing rest part next day morning. I added a little more water than the instruction. Maybe 5-10ml more. It’s way more than enough to apply on the trivet. Now I can’t wait to use it on our console table.

Please do not purchase this craft. We bought 4 kits and 5 cousins worked on them. 3 of the 5 children ended up in the ER with 2nd degree chemical burns. The most significant burns were on their hands, but their feet and legs were also burned where the grout powder accidentally dripped on them. Target has been unresponsive to our request to remove the product from the shelves for further testing.

As another mentioned water measurement is tricky, in America most people can’t measure milliliters easily. And the amount of water they recommended did not seem like an un. It was very very, very dry.

This kept my daughter busy for quite awhile. It came out so good. Exactly as pictured! It does say to use 30 ml for the grout, however, we doubled that amount and used 60ml of water and it was great!

I always enjoy how the mosaic kits turn out. Can’t wait to display this one!!

Follow the exact water called for in the grout. It's going to feel like you barely have enough to stir and mix, let alone have enough to spread. But i found out the hard way that adding a little extra water just leads to a ruined cracked product that takes significantly longer to dry. I need to regrout but the bamboo tray appears to be water damaged after scrapping up the tiles to restart the project. Not only will I need to buy grout but I might as well buy a whole new kit. Lucky me, its sold out 🙄
