There were no instructions included. I would not have been able to put this together without my husband help. missing 2 bolts even after we used the "extra" ones enclosed. I wear a ladies size 10, and it fits on the shelf, but a mans shoes would not fit so well. I like the item, just a tad smaller than what I envisioned. I paid $39 on sale, I would not pay the reg price of 59
