hauck Alpha+ Grow Along Wooden High Chair Seat

I’m extremely disappointed and alarmed by the design of this Hauck wooden high chair. The seat is made at a slight incline, which causes babies to slide forward — making it incredibly dangerous. My infant choked while seated in this chair. At first, I thought maybe my baby was too small for it, but a friend’s older baby tried it too and immediately began choking in the exact same way. This is clearly a design flaw, not user error or baby size. After this frightening experience, I looked at other reviews and found multiple people reporting similar issues. I contacted Hauck’s customer service and was told by a representative that she’d “never heard of this issue before” — despite the fact that it’s clearly documented in reviews. She asked me to email the company, which I did, including a follow-up. I have not received any response since. Target will not help me because the item is outside of the return window. This chair is not just poorly designed — it’s a safety hazard. I strongly urge other parents to avoid this product. No child should be put at risk because of a company’s lack of accountability and refusal to acknowledge serious safety concerns.

I've been using this chair with my child for two months and I'm at a breaking point. The positioning is terrible and he always ends up with his butt sliding forward so that he is reclined. We've tried with a tray, without, with a cushion, and nothing is working.

This high chair was purchased for us from our registry. Although we didn’t spend our own funds on it, I was still included to share our thoughts in order to help other parents. The high chair seems to be well made, sturdy and is certainly less of an eyesore in our dining room than many of the other options out there. However, the back of the high chair is reclined at a decent angle which ultimately causes a choking hazard. Over the past several months of starting solids with our baby we have had to prop towels behind her in order to get her into an upright position. To be clear, she is normally able to sit up fully on her own - this is a flaw in the design of the chair. I now know that babies should always be at 90/90 when eating and that is impossible in this high chair without modification. I don’t know how this high chair is on the market. I could never recommend that anyone purchase for their baby, though it is possible it would work better for an older child. I have never written a review before but felt this info was too important not to share. We now have the mockingbird high chair and highly recommend.

Addon tray has no manual for customer to know how to install, and installing an addon requires a full disassembly to install. Would not recommend for such an incomplete care of the product

Didn't receive the tray table with the high chair. It clearly states it comes with one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Amazing table to be fitted on your Hauck chair. Connecting them is easy and very sturdy, tray and tray top can be removed to be cleaned separately. Removing the connection is also very easy. if you use the straps and/or pillows for the Hauck chair then connecting the tray assembly will be a bit tricky, as there isn't any extra room to use all the parts together. But after 5 minutes of fiddling even that worked.

I like that it includes safety straps to safely buckle my son. Assembly was a little challenging and took me longer than expected.

It took me 20 minutes to assemble, but it’s very sturdy. Doesn’t wobble at all. Without the tray, my 7 year old likes to sit in it too. I recently sat in it and it is SO comfortable. It’s easy to clean and is just a truly quality chair.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This chair was very easy to assemble and I like that I am able to use it for both my baby as she is starting solids and my toddler if needed. It is a very versatile chair and very comfortable even without a cushion. I like the ergonomics of it and that it provides the 90-90-90 angle for my baby who is starting solids. The only downside is that I wish the foot rest were more easily adjustable without removing the screws. That being said, that wouldn't be a deal breaker for me.

This brand is amazing, it's well built and has multiple things you can purchase to add onto it if you'd like and it supports up to 198lbs! This has been a wonderful product for our family.
