Q: I understand the room darkening.....do these also provide some sort of blocking from the outside in? I recently moved to a street level apt and I don't want everyone to be able to look into my space if the curtains are closed.

A: The curtains came in today and I was really disappointed. It's got black out curtains and not thermal as advertised. There is actually a difference between the two. I guess I'll be making a return.

Q: This has been asked multiple times but not answered correctly- what is the size of the rod pocket - what is the maximum sized rods can be used (diameter)?

submitted byAlec - 2 years agoTarget staff supportA: Use math to figure it out. Since the pocket is 3", we can assume the circumference when it is opened up would be 6" max. Since the formula for the circumference of a circle is C=pi*d (3.14 * diameter), then the diameter you are seeking is the circumference divided by 3.14, or 6" / 3.14. So, the largest diameter of a rod that would fit is 1.9". 2" would be too big, anything less would fit fine.

Q: Does this darken a room enough for someone that needs to sleep through the day due to working an overnight shift? Not sure if light blocking and blackout are the same thing.
