good value and good quality even though its store brand performs as well as scotch

Had a hard time getting the tape out of the beginning wrap and the tape felt flimsy n messy.

It works great to wrap my packages for mailing out!

Terrible tape and dispenser. Tape is very thin, doesn’t stick well and comes off in pieces. Would not buy again.

The fact that this product has such a high rating can only be attributed to a coordinated bot campaign or maybe customers found the plastic conducive to melting and creating something genuinely useful. I created a target account solely for the purpose of leavening a scathing review of this item. The fact that the words Heavy Duty, Tape, and Dispenser are used in the product title are gross exaggerations of the terms. 1. Nothing about this product says heavy duty. Both the housing and the tape are some of the lowest quality materials I’ve ever seen. The only comparison I can draw is to the cheap toys they hand out at your child’s dentist. 2. Calling this tape suggests that it has some level of tensile strength, can hold materials together or stick to a substrate of some sort. None of which are true. 3. When you hear the word dispenser you think of a vessel that aids in the delivery of its contents. However, the only thing this product helps dispense is your strength and patience. This device is more suited as a torture device, a qualification for sainthood, or maybe a case study for aspiring engineers. Look. I only ordered this tape to wrap up a few boxes for moving. Not only did it not perform the menial task I needed it to but it made the job twice as long and hard as it ever should’ve been. I feel I should be compensated a test subject or maybe receive a commemorative shirt that says I Survived Target Tape. I really have no clue how this ever made it past the prototype stage or ended up on the shelves of any store. I don’t even leave reviews but this was so bad I figured I needed to give it the same amount of time it stole from me. I have learned a lesson. Never again will I assume all packing tapes are created equally. Thanks Target!

Once it’s taped, it’s fine. But actually getting it off the roll is nearly impossible. Im less than halfway through the roll and I feel like I need superhuman strength to get any tape out.

Not very smooth, go with the name brand

Works great, perfect for shipping easy to use and the sharp part was easy to rip off a piece of tape, where I have struggled with other brands in the past.

I have no idea how this tape has 4.4 stars average. It’s so flimsy and frustrating, I could literally buy something better at the dollar store. I had to toss this and go with the name brand. I about cut myself with the dispenser and I can either get no tape, or way too much.

Trying to get the tape to unroll off the dispenser is a complete nightmare. I won't buy this again just because of how difficult it is to dispense. Half the time I just rip the tape before I get a long enough piece. Other times half the tape sticks to the dispenser and then it gets twisted and stuck to itself.

This is complete garbage. I don’t know why it has good reviews. I even cut myself trying to use it. Awful.

DO NOT BUY!! It is awful. Terribly hard to dispense gets tangled.

The worst packing tape! I’ve never been motivated to write any review for a product until this one. Tape dispenser is flimsy and the tape breaks when trying to pull across a box.

Literally the worst tape I have ever purchased. Do not buy! If you tape it over a label the label won’t be able to be scanned, and the tape won’t pull out on the dispenser. Worst purchase I’ve ever made from target.

Why on earth is this so highly rated? I regret not going with the name brand. The tape itself is okay once adhered, but it's a devil of a time getting it off the dispenser. The tape itself is pretty thin, so good luck getting a large enough piece out before it tangles up on you. Honestly, it's super hard to get it out of the dispenser. I was wrestling with this thing for several minutes, just trying to tape up a postage bag and get a label on it. I guess this is what I get for trying to save fifty cents and go with the generic brand instead of Scotch. Literally never again will I do this to myself. This is great tape to buy for someone you hate and want to annoy to no end. Learn from my mistakes

Snags easily. Flimsy.

The tape dispenser is poorly designed. The tape gets caught and doesn't roll out the way that it should. Would not buy again.

I used to LOVE this tape..but they changed the dispenser a few months ago and omg it's HORRIBLE, the tape roll comes off CONSTANTLY while your trying to use it, if they would go back to the old dispenser or fix the issue it would be GREAT, the tape itself is really good, sticks well, no issues there and I ship A LOT to his was my go-to because of the price compared to the big name brand but until they fix the red dispenser or go back to the old dispenser I will NOT be purchasing it again because it literally drives me crazy, you go to pull off tape and the roll comes off of the holder, ugh makes me so mad, and it doesn't just don't wverynonce in a while..no it's constant, you can't use it! I ended up taking the roll off of the dispenser and putting it on am old one I still had after it ran out.. it's way thinner of a plastic, I was able to tell the difference immediately! PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE WITH THE RED DISPENSER!!

I had to cut it with a box cutter to use it. Worthless. Tore in micro pieces. Ridiculous.

I gave the tape 2 stars because the tape itself does a halfway decent job of holding packages closed. But do yourself a favor and buy the name brand stuff. The dispenser is a nightmare to use. I probably wasted as much tape as I used.
