Description
Designed to complement current recycling efforts, the Hefty® ReNew® program provides a simple, convenient solution to collect hard-to-recycle plastics right at your curbside and convert them into valued resources. These hard-to-recycle plastics include common items like plastic utensils, candy wrappers, pet food bags, and foam takeout containers. Simply start collecting accepted hard-to-recycle plastics in the official Hefty® ReNew® orange bag. When the bag is full, use dependable drawstrings to tie it closed and place in your curbside recycling bin/cart with normal recyclables. Your regular recycling truck will pick up and deliver the bags to your local recycling facility (MRF). The recycling center then separates these bags from other materials and sends them on to facilities that use the hard-to-recycle plastics as an energy resource or break them down to create new and useful products.

READ WHY this is a bag to put plastic recyclables in!
This is only for hard to recycle plastic that is only processed in limited areas. For a review that complained there was no reason for them to use it as their city provided containers, this is for plastics not processed by regular city plants. As it says right on the package. As it also states check to see if you have one of these places near you! Great program. The one stars are detrimental to this! And incorrect.

Whaaaat??
Wait, so this smart, new idea is to bag up your plastic recyclables in a *plastic bag* ? How is that helping anything? We just put all our recyclables together in our outside recycling can & the city picks it up. I guess this might be good for people who have to take their recyclables somewhere. I just hate the idea of yet another plastic bag!

I can't seem to find another seller for the ReNew program bags, but we're trying it out. (I only hope they're actually doing what they claim and recycling the plastics.) If the program is in your area, give it a try. The recyclers pick it up without issue and it helps keep it out of landfills. The bags are surprisingly strong, just not very stretchy.

COMPLETE GREENWASHING!
Program is only in FOUR participating areas as of April 2022!! So, you’re selling bags that people think work for their area but they don’t unless you’re in Atlanta, Omaha/Lincoln, or Boise.

Love this! Wish it was available at more stores. They need to make the bag have a string similar to the blue recycling bags. Not sure why it is tie only. It makes it flimsy.
