- High-Fiber Breakfast
- Cooks Quickly & Tastes Great!
Description
Oat Bran Cereal is a deliciously smooth hot cereal. It cooks quickly and tastes great! Oat bran is the perfect choice for a fiber-packed breakfast, but it also makes excellent baked goods like muffins and more.
Oat bran is the outer casing of the oat groat, which is low in saturated fat and a good source of dietary fiber, including soluble fiber. Thats why studies have indicated the daily intake of oat bran can lower LDL (aka bad) cholesterol and may protect against heart disease. Its high fiber content can also make you feel fuller longer, which can control your appetite and guard against snacking. Need more protein in your diet? Oat bran offers this valuable nutrient.
In addition to the above health benefits, oat bran makes an absolutely delicious hot cereal. Try topping a bowl of whole grain oat cereal goodness with brown sugar and butter, or add fruit, spices, yogurt and nuts.
Youll love this creamy hot cereal, but dont forget: oat bran can be added to all kinds of food. Remember bran muffins? Theyre still a delicious breakfast or snack, and we have dozens of recipes on our site at BobsRedMill.com/Recipes that incorporate flaxseeds, raisins, apple, zucchini, bananaseven chocolate! You can also blend it into you next smoothie for a boost of nutrition.

So I had never really heard of oat bran. I eat oatmeal but not oat bran I know a sheltered life I must live. Anyway I stumbled across a video of Kevin Bacon making his favorite breakfast on Instagram. Its Oat Bran. The way he made it, topped with a soft boiled egg and sriracha sounded so good I went out and bought Bob's Red Mill Oat Bran. It is easy to make and yummy to boot!
What Increases the Fiber in High Fiber Oat Bran vs. Oat Bran Cereal?

This is actually a question about the differences between Bob's Red Mill High Fiber Oat Bran Hot Cereal and Bob's Red Mills Oat Bran Hot Cereal. There is a 75% more fiber in the product labeled high fiber (7G vs. 4G), but there is only one ingredient in both products: oat bran. So I'm curious how one has so much more fiber than the other. To the eye, the products looks the same.
So simple, so delicious.

This is my favorite hot cereal of all time. I eat it so often that I keep it in a Weck jar on my otherwise clutter-free counter. It is so delicious on its own that I add nothing but a bit of salt. Pro tip: Use a large bowl when preparing this goodness, lest it boil over in your microwave and leave a gloppy mess.
Easy, tasty way to add plenty of fiber to your diet!

Easy, tasty way to add a lot of fiber to your diet (25% per serving). Add berries for more fiber and taste. Add cows milk for protein to keep you full. Great value!

The Oat Bran cereal reminds me of Cream of Wheat which I loved as a child. I add a small pat of butter, sugar, and milk to the bowl. I can eat this any time of the day!

I was pleasantly surprised! I had such a negative idea about bran, but when my doctor recommended it for soluble fiber and I tried it, it was delicious! My son and husband tried it and now we all enjoy it almost daily!

While I grew up eating oats as a child, I don't think I've ever tried oat bran until this recent order arrived. I purchased this along with rolled and steel cut oats, which I've enjoyed from Bob's before. My partner cooks himself oats every morning, even in the summers. We both have greatly enjoyed trying this cereal for the first time. It's wonderfully creamy and fast-cooking, but retains a little bite to it so it's not complete goop like pulverized instant oats.

This oat bran is not just the rough skin of an oat berry with what it's name may suggest. This hot cereal style oat bran is actually like a coarse couscous of oat. I put 1/2 cup in a bowl, add about 1.5 cup of hot water, and then microwave the mixture for about 1 minute. Add seasoning (savory with garnish, or brown sugar with raisin), a quick warm meal in just 3 minutes! Great!

Love it. Have it every morning for my breakfast: 1/2c. oat bran, 1c. skim milk, 2 spoonful low sugar Raisins. Microwave for 2.5 minutes and you have the best high protein, low fat, high fiber cholesterol fighting breakfast possible. If you have a "sweet tooth" add a oz. of maple syrup to the mix!

I have used this oat bran for the Dukan diet for 10 years.. the last 2 bags I have opened have a tiny black rod shape--it's not moving--not sure if a dead bug or metal! I eat oat bran daily--now what am I going to do? So grossed out
Too finely ground

Oat bran is over-processed. It’s like eating paste after cooking. I’ve moved on to other brands that aren’t so finely ground.
