Just Meh.
The gingerbread pieces were perfectly intact upon opening. The icing is thin. Maybe adding some more powdered sugar would help. It takes quite a while to set in-between section assembly. I had our 8 and 9 year old girl decorate the front, back and sides before assembling. Then they decorated the roof once everything was set and completely dry. It includes an accurate candy amount shown on the back of the box. NOTE: The candy if made as shown, only covers the 3 sides of the house shown on the front of the box. You will have to pull away from that design to decorate the 3 other sides, or invest in more candy. Our girls enjoyed this project. We have allergies, so we did not eat anything. It smelled good. We would never eat unless homemade even if we were allergy free.

Bought two, both had broken parts. The icing/frosting is so bad it’s nearly impossible to use. Warmed in microwave to get it even remotely useful. I am pretty crafty and felt like a 3 year old trying to build this thing! -5 in my opinion. I make my own icing fixed all the broken pieces. Save your money

Great quality houses
I normally make my own houses and was extremely pleased with the quality of this product. I did make my own royal icing to put houses together and we used included frosting for decorating. Houses were thick and very sturdy. The included decorations were cute. We did get some of own candy decorations since I did not know what was included in this package. Grandkids had a great time decorating. I would totally recommend this product. We purchased the classic houses.

Disappointing
Buy this if you want to see your husband have a meltdown while trying to put it together for your kid to decorate. The icing does nothing to hold the pieces together, and the longer you wait the more it falls apart. Same thing happened with the red barn version. We will try the pre built ones next!

Total waste of money
Bought 3 as a fun project with my grandkids. It was so frustrating for all of them. Pastry bag broke, frosting wouldn’t glue house together ( though it sure stuck to everything else. My 9 year old grands was so excited and so frustrated once we got started. We had to call it an epic fail that we wouldn’t do again. 3 kits purchased and a total waste of money.

Do NOT buy!
If we could give a zero star we would. I should have remembered from last year how awful these are. They came in broken pieces and when trying to fix them it just turns into a disaster. I let them sit longer than the 15 min recommended and they still started to slide apart. Huge disappointment. Do NOT buy these!
