Little Gingebread Boys
I was not able to make our traditional gingerbread boys. This Christmas season. I started looking for an alternative. I noticed a sale price at Target. The price was great and decided to buy and see what I could do. All I did was use the white icing and with a small pastry did them. Amazed and went back so far been through 5 boxes of them. Oh yes, the taste is great.

I'm surprised with all the negative comments. These taste fine. They taste like, get ready... Gingerbread cookies. Are they a strong flavor profile? No. Does it have a ginger taste to it? Yes. They are cheap, store brand cookies, temper your expectations.

The cookies are really good! They don’t have a strong gingerbread taste but you can definitely tell that it is a gingerbread. The other reviews are a little harsh. They are a hard cookie but it’s not too sweet at all and it’s a delicious treat!

These taste like the baker forgot to put in the ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. There is a vague ginger taste, but it is hard to separate from the cardboard taste. On the plus side, they are cut out very nicely.

Cute looking.
These are very cute little gingerbread men, but if your hoping for a great ginger flavour you'll be very disappointed. In fact, in my particular batch, I don't think the ginger flavour even waved at these cookies in passing, never mind decided to join the party. The result of this is a nasty chemical taste, instead of the ginger tang I was hoping for. I would definitely not recommend these to anyone.

No Ginger in this "Gingerbread" Man Cookie
So disappointing! There is only a slight hint of a spice (slightly synthetic in taste) in these cookies and it's not ginger. These do not taste like gingerbread at all. So if your looking for real gingerbread cookies, I wouldn't buy these.

While on a trip to Washington State, we purchased gingerbread mug huggers at Trader Joe's that were absolutely delicious. When we got home to Hawaiʻi, I regretted not having brought a few boxes home, and when I saw these at Target, I thought they would be comparable. Unfortunately, they're not. I am not sure if they're meant to be soft or not, but they taste stale. Could have just bought a dud pack, but it could also actually always be like that. Unfortunately, I won't be buying another box to find out!
