Q: This product does not contain a prop 65 warning label required for the stated of CA and isn’t that material (pvc) banned on baby products in 2008? How is this allowed at target?

A: PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) is not entirely banned for products intended for children under 3 years old, provided it complies with the relevant safety standards, such as the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) regulations and California's Proposition 65 (COP65) for phthalates content. However, there are strict regulations regarding the use of PVC in children's products, especially concerning the presence of harmful chemicals like phthalates. The CPSC restricts the use of certain phthalates in children's toys and child care articles, particularly those that are intended to be mouthed, sucked, or chewed by children under 3 years old. Products that do not comply with these regulations cannot be sold legally in the United States. California's Proposition 65 also requires that products containing certain levels of harmful chemicals, including specific phthalates, provide clear warnings to consumers. In summary, as long as the PVC material in your product complies with both CPSC and COP65 regulations for phthalate content, it can be legally used in products intended for children under 3 years old. Floating debris?
Did add instructed and added white vinegar that we had just bought add well as distilled water to help avoid mold. After a couple days noticed this floating debris that's blue in color, like maybe a coating from the printing came off? Glad it's in the water but not using it again unless we can get it emptied out entirely. Also why print the company info on the front of the product, it looks so cheap. I expect better from Target, or looks like something from Amazon or worse!

Baby seems into it. Although depending how much you fill it up baby tends to roll over easily. Easy to fill up. Only thing is it takes up space if you want to store It. So either have to empty the water out or make room to store it. But it’s cute.

Disappointed - mold & PVC
Disappointed that I didn’t think to look up the harmful side effects of PVC which is what this is made of. It makes me question why it’s even sold in stores? My baby hasn’t really taken a ton of interest in it but I realized the box says 6mo+ when the website says 0-18mo, and he’s only 4mo now. Wouldn’t recommend due to PVC alone but the mold it accumulated inside due to not being able to completely dry out is enough to not waste your money. You could probably make your own with a gallon bag of water and small toys and get the same outcome with less money and mold.

DO NOT BUY! NOT SAFE
This product claims to be “100% SAFE FOR YOUR LITTLE ANGEL!” However the material it is made from is Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) which was banned from baby products and toys years ago. How this got past target corporate and made it to the stores is beyond me.. according to the nj.gov website “[PVC] Phthalates harm children's health and development by interfering with natural hormone functioning and have been linked to birth defects in baby boys, testicular cancer, liver problems, and early onset of puberty in girls – which is a risk factor for later-life breast cancer.” Also, other sources available on Google

Great product but would not recommend
My son loved this tummy time water mat, but one day i noticed the orange fish had some brown/black on it. A few days later the orange fish was now brown/black. I emptied the water out of it to return it, and overnight the whole water part was covered in mold.
