Book Synopsis
From the author of Happiness for Beginners comes the instant New York Times bestseller (May 2018), an unforgettable love story about finding joy even in the darkest of circumstances.
Margaret Jacobsen is just about to step into the bright future she's worked for so hard and so long: a new dream job, a fiancé she adores, and the promise of a picture-perfect life just around the corner. Then, suddenly, on what should have been one of the happiest days of her life, everything she worked for is taken away in a brief, tumultuous moment. In the hospital and forced to face the possibility that nothing will ever be the same again, Maggie must confront the unthinkable. First there is her fiancé, Chip, who wallows in self-pity while simultaneously expecting to be forgiven. Then, there's her sister Kit, who shows up after pulling a three-year vanishing act. Finally, there's Ian, her physical therapist, the one the nurses said was too tough for her. Ian, who won't let her give in to her pity, and who sees her like no one has seen her before. Sometimes the last thing you want is the one thing you need. Sometimes we all need someone to catch us when we fall. And sometimes love can find us in the least likely place we would ever expect. How to Walk Away is Katherine Center at her very best--a masterpiece of a novel that is both hopeful and hilarious; truthful and wise; tender and brave. How To Walk Away is soooooo good!!! Margarot’s life is perfect- a new career, an amazing boyfriend with wedding plans just around the corner, friends, family… she has it all- but life doesn’t always go the way we plan. Tragedy strikes and Margaret’s world as she knows it comes crashing down. With courage, laughter, and love she finds her way through the darkness. Katherine Center has been quickly becoming a favorite author - a go to for charming, uplifting, don’t let life turn you bitter novels. The kind that make you laugh and as you are wiping teardrops off your cheeks. You know the ones that make you want to keep reading but never finish the story because you become so invested in the characters and their lives I read Happiness for Beginners last summer and loved it- with the release of Ms Centers Latest The Rom-Comers I grabbed How To Walk Away off my shelf (compliments of The Girlfriend giveaways a while back) and dove in. What a ride!!! FIVE stars -hurry…run and read How To Walk Away if you haven’t yet! It’s all the things.. and her book boyfriends are pretty incredible too -iykyk

How to Walk Away may be the best Katherine Center book yet! The story is told by a young woman who is dealing with a recent disability and a fiance that learned nothing about how to treat others. I can’t stress enough how much I disliked this guy. I know accidents bring on PTSD for both parties, but this dude was simply inexcusable. Luckily, we get a much better man in the leads life that reminds us why we look for love even when it is improbable, even when it isn’t the time, even when you least want it. Their story is one that leads to a lot of love and a lot of understanding. I love that he’s the kind of person that lets our lead find herself before he ever wants anything else out of her. Seriously…. This is the dreamiest guy when it comes to waiting tor the right opening! Katherine Center thank you for another story that will stick with us ling after!
