New purchase

So I needed a new laptop for the Windows 11 upgrade on a budget and came across this. Does not have touchscreen but that’s not a deal breaker for me. The screen size is great for aging eyes and setup was easy. The reason this got three stars instead of more is because there are only 2 USB ports and 1 HDMI hookup so I had to buy extra equipment to be able to use all my accessories. And no Ethernet port either which is a hindrance where I live. But for the money and my needs this is a great laptop.

Great features across the board.

This computer is exactly what I needed! I had a much smaller laptop prior to this one and was concerned about the significantly larger and heavier model. The screen size is great - I don't need to use an external screen any longer, so my desk is uncluttered and much tidier! I can read the type on the computer screen with my normal optical prescription glasses instead of having to change to mega magnifiers when using this computer. Its speed is remarkable response and interactive, intelligent operation are surprising.

Great model

So far. this laptop is really great and does everything that I've asked of it, Let's hope it stays that way! One reason I bought it over other models was because of the 17 inch screan as I had been used to a larger desk top moniter.

Nice but could be much better

I love how quick the computer is at startup and updates...far faster than my old HP laptop...but it was 8 years old. However, extremely frustrated with the fact that HP installs Office 365 and I can't get rid of it...I tried numerous times to uninstall so that I can install my Office 2019...nope keeps saying that a new version is installed and proceeds to put wrong product code and then askes me to call and the call then says wrong product number and hangs up...The battery does NOT last more than a couple hours and doesn't recharge to 50% in 45 minutes...several hours later it's fully charged. None of those are a deal breaker, but don't install Office 365 if when I am ordering it I tell you I have and Full Office product that I will be installing myself!!!

A good computer for streaming

I bought this recently primarily for streaming (and as a backup "just in case" my other computer had troubles). It was easy to set up and does the job that I wanted it to do. I am quite happy with it.

Hard act to follow, but so far looking good.

This laptop replaced an eight year old HP laptop which had served me well, old friend but with Windows 11 decided that it take early retirement. The new laptop is everything I expected and required, the main feature being I need a large screen and the conversion or adapting from Windows 10 to 11 was a lot simpler than expected. The only feature and a minor one is that I don't like or not used to the Power On switch which is included in amongst the function keys rather than being isolated away from the keypad. I would also liked it to have more than the two USB ports but I knew that limit when I purchased the laptop so just have to using a USB hub. If this HP laptop continues to serve me as faithfully and reliably as its predecessor, that'll do me.

Great screen size.

It's a great computer. I love the screen size. The only thing I'm not happy with is the USB-C port is data only, not video. I didn't check that before I purchased, I kind of thought in this day and age they would all have video capability. It is clearly stated, so my fault for not checking.

Pleased non-tech customer's observation.

This new laptop is quick in its responses but I remain unconvinced that the Windows 11 operating platform is an improvement on its predecessor which is to be abandoned by Microsoft in October 2025. Certainly the quick response is attributable to HP's quality product's technology. However, I've had those additional applications professionally installed which suffice for my needs- which are admittedly basic and functional - for my business and institutional activities.
