• As with all Huckleberry Roasters blends, while the overall flavor profile for Civitas stays consistent for the year, the coffees incorporated & roasted for Civitas change throughout the year to incorporate fresh arriving coffee – fresh coffees means higher quality & more consistent yumminess in your coffee cup!
• Don’t call it a dark roast. Okay, okay…we won’t. How about we call it Civitas and say it's "a slightly darker roast with slightly longer development"? Yea, that sounds cool!
• Huckleberry Roasters buys coffees for Civitas from Latin America that are responsibly and sustainably grown, harvested and imported. Additionally, Huckleberry Roasters prioritizes buying coffee that has the most immediate and direct developmental impact at origin. This is why you'll see many of the same coffees in our lineup, year after year - we want our small role in the supply chain to be dependable for the farmers who grow our coffee. The hope is that we'll get access to better, more consistent coffee and farmers get more money for their farms, families and communities.
• Brew tasty coffee! Whether you’re making an espresso, a cup of drip coffee, steeping cold brew or anything in between, there are lots of variables that can change the result in your cup – grinder type, water quality, coffee to water ratio, and more. For brewed coffee recommend starting with a 1 gram of coffee to 16 grams of water (if measuring by weight) or 1 tablespoon of coffee to 4 ounces of water (if measuring by volume), and then playing around with variables & parameters, adjusting one at a time, to get your coffee tasting just how you like it.
