A cooler should be able to hold ice no? Well this cooler does a poor job at that, actually an embarrassing job. I went fishing yesterday evening in a very shady spot around 76 degrees outside. I froze a half gallon jug of water placed in the cooler , parked under an area with trees, left ice and cooler in car only to come back to less than have the ice melted. So in a 2 hour span, leaving a cooler in a car, parked in a shaded area wherw the temps outside are in the 70s results in this much melt?

Terrible CHEAP Hinges

Cheap handles and hinges. One hinge broke within 2 weeks now the lid pops off. Submitted a warranty claim so we’ll see but it doesn’t look like you can order a replacement lid with new hinges. Disappointing.

There are a big step down from the old style. The handles are very flimsy and regularly pop out of their housings (I've had this happen on multiple occasions while carrying full coolers of shellfish, no fun). Handles are no longer replaceable/repairable- the attachment points are built in to the body of the cooler, so if they snap, you need a new cooler instead of a cheap part. These attachment points are thin and seem pretty fragile. I've used the old style of igloo marine coolers and Maxcolds on my oyster farm for 10 years. They are durable, lightweight, affordable, and effective. Nearly perfect work coolers. It is a bummer to see such a step backwards. I'd love to see a return to the old design.

Thanks for cheapening a great cooler! All the hinges and handles are now molded in, so when something breaks, you have to replace the whole thing! Obviously saving production costs that never got passed on to the customer.

Owned it for years. Light weight when empty small size for volume compared to yeti. Replacement parts available and with insulated lid it keeps ice for reasonable time. The white color keeps lid cool in sun. On most of my outings getting new ice is not hard but packing all my food and drink is. My old cooler lid is hollow, I place a matched size piece of packing insulation over food and ice and it works well. Sounds like these coolers now have insulated lids. Awesome!

Durable, Perfect Size, Great Ice Retention

I've had mool and y Igloo Marine 54 qt cooler for over six years. It has been a frequent use workhorse for camping, sailing, traveling and work for that time and is still going strong. And with a little baking soda/water mix for cleaning, it stays white. It's a cutting board, seat, and step for reaching the top or bed of the truck as well as keeping food and drink cold. And it does keep food and drink cold over two or three days with constant in and out if you use a little block ice (or ice pack) with the crushed ice. It may not be the rotomolded, 10 day (claimed) ice retention, IGBC rated cooler, but it wasn't designed for that, nor is it priced for that, either. If you need a really durable, well insulated cooler that will give great value, good performance for a weekend plus and long life, don't hesitate. Get this cooler.
