A: Hello Customer. Please note that the charging dock is for the Joy con controller. The Joy con does not need batteries.

We bought this as a Christmas gift for my kids, and I’m so glad I did. It’s easy to use and the controllers can all be charged at once instead one two by two. So easy to use, my six year old is in charge of docking the controllers at the end of each day. I do wish the USB cable was longer but it’s one that you can literally pick up at the dollar store for a longer cord.
