Book Synopsis
Now in paperback, Book 1 in Siri Pettersen's Vardari series. Fantasy full of secrets, adventure, and romance! Juva hates female blood readers. They are celebrated for their clairvoyance, but are nothing but commoners who play on people's fears. Juva is a descendant of blood readers, but has vowed never to be one of them. However, when her family is threatened by the Vardari--those who are immortal and never-aging--she goes on a hunt for a dark secret that once changed the world and possibly will again. But to survive, Juva has to confront the terrifying childhood memory she fought to forget: she saw the devil as a child . . . Iron Wolf is a new spellbinding fantasy mystery from Siri Pettersen, built on a Norse foundation, about blood, desire, and addiction. It's the first book in the trilogy VARDARI, an independent series set in the universe of the award-winning fantasy phenomenon THE RAVEN RINGS. Siri Pettersen made her sensational debut in 2013 with the Norwegian publication of Odin's Child, the first book in The Raven Rings trilogy, which has earned numerous awards and nomiations at home and abroad. Siri has a background as a designer and comics creator. Her roots are in Finnsnes and Trondheim, but she now lives in Oslo, where you're likely to find her in a coffee shop. According to fellow writers, her superpower is "mega-motivation", which she describes as the ability to inspire other creative souls. Tara Chace has translated more than fifty novels from Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish. She translates literature, crime, books for young adults and children, and non-fiction. Some of her recent translations include Edvard Hoem's Haymaker in Heaven (Milkweed Editions), Katrine Engberg's The Harbor (Gallery/Scout Press), Jan Stocklassa's The Man Who Played with Fire (Amazon Crossing), and Line Renslebråten's Under the Polar Ice (Fitzhenry & Whiteside).
