JanSport Landings 30L Backpack - Black: Laptop Bag with Padded Straps, Recycled Polyester

Didn't even last a year for my 7th grader. It had a huge hole in the front. Had to go back and forth with customer service until they finally gave me a gift card.

I came from a smaller, cheaper-built JanSport Backpack that is no longer made that I had for four years, and I was looking for something to last longer and that would alleviate some of the weight I felt using my old one. The Landing pack seemed like a good fit, albeit an investment. If you're looking for something smallish that can fit several books, a notebook, some binders and maybe other school-related items, this will definitely work and the organization on the front is certainly a plus. The straps aren't that padded, but they're also not necessarily horrible. I can confidently say this will work for an overnight travel trip as well or a supplement to a suitcase (and it slides on like a travel bag too!). If it's within your budget and you want something that looks nice, feels okay, and has good organization and a medium carrying capacity for commuting, work, or school, this definitely will do it. And some of the more intriguing colors are on sale right now at $40 off as well.

I bought this backpack a year ago and tried using it for travel several times. However, every time I try standing it on the chair or on the floor it falls forward. It is unable to stay up. The base of the bag is made to narrow for it to hold up the rest of the bag. Do not get this bag!

I love this bag for many reasons but dislike it for one key reason. Things I like: * Bag has a professional look to it so you don't feel like a student when you're wearing it. * Excellent organization and storage. * "Trolly Slip" so when walking through the airport you can attach it to your suitcase. This was actually the reason I choose the Landings model. * Two water bottle holders, I use one for my umbrella. * Recently discovered the chest strap's clip is a whistle so added safety. This feature is the reason I came to write a review because I think everyone should know about this. What I don't like: The shoulder straps are thin and not well cushioned so you really do feel the weight of everything in the bag. My previous bag was an Odysset model which has the most comfortable straps and spoiled me.

I returned my Journey Pack and bought this one as I do want a light bag with some function unlike my old TUMI alpha or too sport looking Wenger or masculine OGIO Stratagem. Those are good bags but not like this good looking. Pros: Comfortable back panel, EVA Strap, ballistic Diamond wave 600D polyester(More durable than classic big student). A small pocket for AirPods and caddy. Cons: 1. Still have no Keychain which is annoying. I have to make one myself. 2. No D-ring or Molle Webbing on the straps, which can be useful to hanging jacket on the go. I will stitch two some other days with my tailor's help. 3. It can be bigger, which always remind me that I may should get my old big student bag back. However it is old and too studentish. I am almost 30yrs old, not required to look that young, haha. I will attach some pic to show its issue. But generally it is a good bag and I will recommend this model.

My previous bag was the Odyssey which has extremely padded straps. However I travel more for work now and I needed a bag that looked more professional and less studentish. This bag definitely fits the bill and I specifically selected it because it has the ability to attached to my suitcase in the airport. My biggest complaint is the straps. I went from super padded where I could barely tell I had a backpack on to my shoulders hurt from the weight when wearing it. I went with the green because while I know a black bag is probably more professional I still wanted to have a little fun.

I use the Jansport Landings Pack backpack for school. I also use it as my storage for laptop as it has a really safe guarded sleeve for it. I have a 16" laptop, but the tag on it when it was delivered said 15". I believe it can even hold 17". I am so in love with the color deep juniper. It costs a lot, but I believe it is worth it because of the brand and design. You definitely get your money worth in investing in a quality backpack. The organization of the compartments is so pleasing.

I use this backpack every day at home and at my university. It's spacious enough for books and laptop. The laptop is well-padded. The very best feature for me is the eye-glass pouch right on the top, very easy to access.

I like how this bag has a little pocket along the top that you don't know is there unless you know it's there. Perfect for car keys. The roller bag sleeve is a fantastic idea.

This backpack gets a 5 stars because one, it i love the 2 water bottle feature, two, it is incredibly comfortable on my back after a long day and three because of how much room it has. It holds all my electronic devices very well and protects them. I can see it lasting me for some years!

However, I wish it had been a bit bigger for use on the go whether your going to the gym, to work, or traveling. There's just no way you can hold much more than a few notebooks, a water bottle or 2, and your laptop/tablet in it which is disappointing!
