If this product has a batch code, you should be able to look it up and verify the authenticity. Additionally, if this product was delivered and left out in the heat, this may effect the texture. Q: How is this different from the 5 oz leave in size other than size? While they're both worded differently, the outcome of the products seems the same. Are they 2 different hair masks?

A: Hi Coco! The 5 oz mask is a mask you use in place of conditioner that needs to be rinsed out. The 1.7 oz you do not rinse out. They both do similar things, but if you have more damage you may want to go with the 1.7 oz because that will be in the hair longer.

This product is a fake! There are specific characteristics of the authentic product and it's packaging that this fake does not have: 1) the consistency should be like a medium lotion that can be vigorously distributed between hands resulting in a thicker mask-like product--this fake is thin and almost watery; 2) the packaging should have specific information and symbols such as a list of ingredients, a bar code, recycle symbol as well as the k18 website and distribution info under its parent company AQUIS Hair Sciences--this fake has none of this info.

I have naturally curly hair that is heat damaged. My hair felt stronger and smoother after one use. It made detangling my hair so easy, and it smoothed out my flyaways. Haven’t noticed any curling in the heat damaged area yet though. I needed way more than the recommended max of 3 pumps, but I have long thick hair. Will probably need another small bottle to make it to the recommended 4 uses.
