About the Book
Forty-year-old Kate Landry leads a structured life running a beignet café in New Orleans until an unpredictable and hunky librarian drops into her world. Micah Guidry was her first kiss and is the first man in years to make her consider dating again. But past hurts have a tight hold on Kate, and falling in love in the Big Easy might be too hard.Book Synopsis
I turned to him, and he winked at me. Winked! We needed clear lines in place between us. We would not be flirty friends. We'd be friends, period. The sooner I made that distinction, the better.Forty-year-old Kate Landry's carefully planned life has become as messy as the powdered sugar on her famous beignets. Juggling the responsibilities of running her café, raising her teenage niece, and the emotional baggage from her breakup, Kate finds her world once again turned upside down when her first-ever crush, Micah Guidry, returns to town as the hunky local librarian.
As Kate struggles to implement her plans to expand her café amid the New Orleans Mardi Gras madness and the meddling of her conniving ex-fiancé, Micah becomes the unwitting hero of her misadventures, stirring up feelings she thought she'd long buried. How can falling in love in the Big Easy be this hard?

Beignet restaurant owner and single mother Kate Landry had a plan for her life - a plan that got interrupted when her first crush, Micah Guidry, returns to their hometown of New Orleans. Micah is the new librarian at the library Kate’s adopted niece frequents, and while they never had more than a first kiss back in school, Micah quickly makes it clear that he wants to pursue a relationship with Kate now. As Kate navigates their budding relationship, explores expanding her business, and deals with various family issues, she discovers that God’s plan for her life is way better than her own.⚜️ I’ve been waiting for this book ever since I finished Rebekah Millet’s debut back in 2023, and I’m so glad that I finally got to read Kate’s story! Kate Landry Has a Plan is a sweet story that had me laughing out loud. I absolutely loved Micah (who doesn’t love a guy who loves books?) and his flirtiness toward Kate even made me blush. With the jazz music, Mardi Gras celebrations, and all the beignets, this story is steeped in New Orleans culture, so much so that I felt like I was actually in the city. And like the previous book, I appreciated how authentic and present the characters’ faith was throughout the story. I very much enjoyed this delightful second chance romance, and I look forward to seeing what Rebekah Millet writes next.💜 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A big thank you to Rebekah Millet and Bethany House Publishers for sending me a copy of this book! What a delight! This story was so sweet, romantic, funny, and tender. I loved it! The main characters were very lovable, and it made me happy to see their relationship and romance grow. They’re opposites of each other, but so perfect together. The writing was excellent, the storyline hooked me from beginning to end, and I loved the New Orleans setting! The descriptions of the food, music, and culture swept me away. It certainly gave me some major cravings for beignets! I loved the humor and the swoony romance, but this story also has a lot of depth to it as it touches on some heavy topics. The mix was nicely balanced, making for an engaging, moving, and absolutely charming story.

"Despite my best efforts, Micah Guidry had gotten into my system. And now I found myself in withdrawal. Complete with a shaky heart and whirling mind." This was such a sweet story of love and faith! I had so much fun traveling to Books & Beignets in the heart of New Orleans. The setting definitely added to the magic of this story. I also really appreciated how the two MCs were in their 4os. It was a realistic and relatable portrayal of how life doesn't always go as planned, and it's never too late to find your happily ever after. There was a good mix of humor and heart. Kate was so endearing and easy to love. I enjoyed how her faith was central to her decision-making. That was really refreshing! And that kiss between her and Micah. WOAH. That goes down as one of the best literary kisses I've read about! 4.5/5 Read if you enjoy: Romantic Comedies Stories of Faith & Healing Second Chance Romance Childhood Crush Hilarious Animal Antics *I received a complimentary copy from the publisher.
