Kaytee Sunflower Hearts and Chips Bird and Wildlife Food - 8lbs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I mixed this in a feeder with regular sunflower seeds. For some reason the birds didn’t seem too interested in these by themselves. They are nice though because they are a lot less messy than regular sunflower seeds.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I must say, the birds in my back yard (and other little critters) really love these sunflower seeds! We have lots of trees in our back yard which means lots of beautiful birds - which I’ve been wanting to get a feeder for since we moved in a few months ago. This was the perfect opportunity. I’ve seen nondescript birds, cardinals, blue birds and of course my tree squirrels enjoying this mix. Good value for the money and it’s packaged well so you don’t have to worry about the bag ripping. I recommend storing in plastic bin to keep any critters or pets from trying to chew through it.

For whatever reason, my birds seem to be favoring all the other feeders and the one that contains this mix has just been sitting for several days. I don’t plan to purchase this one again and that’s ok because my squirrels seem to like it so they can finish off the bag. I live in Iowa if that helps anyone make a decision.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a huge bag, I think it’s worth the price. It is nothing but sunflower seeds so it’s very specific bird seed. Ultimately the birds like it and PetSmart carries out which makes it convenient.

The birds get the sunflower seed, and I don't have to deal with brushing hulls off of my deck steps or decorative rocks.

I'm quite happy with this Kaytee Sunflower Hearts & Chips Wild Bird Food, its the perfect size for all the little neighborhood birds and we have definitely seen several visiting our birdfeeder throughout the day! Since switching to this bird food, we have to refill the feeder almost daily! The birds definitely love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love buying sunflower seeds since a lot of different birds seem to enjoy them and they last a long time, but the downside is the mess they create. However, this product solves that issue by eliminating the shells and giving you just the seeds. No more messes and cleanups after the birds have cleaned out the feeder.

I found it to be affordable and I would recommend to anyone wanting to give some birds a nice little treat without much of a mess.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Living in Southern California I wanted to find bird food that was needed for the types of birds in my area. I discovered that sunflower seed is one of the best for the species near me. Specially the hearts of the sunflower as they're higher in the fat and nutrients birds, especially babies, need. If a baby bird doesn't get the nutrients they need, they can die. To me this is the most important thing about providing bird food to my local birds - so that they live and are healthy. I realize these are more expensive that the whole seeds, but the whole seeds are harder to eat for the smaller birds. These hearts & chips are great for the little birds, and they love it too! Highly recommend. If you're looking to save money you could offer this as well as a cheaper blend with other nuts & seeds.
