The cord hangs off the heating unit. It could've been channeled down the stand. I wouldn't want this in my house or on my patio because it is ugly.

I like that the heat is directional so it's not just warming up the sphere of air around the space heater, but actually points it where you want it to be going. It has a timer, remote, and auto shutoff--all of which i would be looking for in this sort of item. It's not especially sexy though, so I don't know if I would actually want to use it in my house...
