Favorite coffee, nothing else comes close. I drank Peet’s Major Dickason’s blend for years then wanted to switch to organic/fair trade and landed on Kicking Horse. Husband and I were both immediate converts! If you like bold/dark roast this is a great one.

This coffee tastes simultaneously weak and like burnt diner coffee no matter how I brew it. Completely unpalatable. I wanted to like it as it’s organic and fair trade but it’s just not an enjoyable cup of coffee.

I like the values of the brand, and the fair trade, but the coffee itself tasted a little thin. Maybe we should use more when we make it. I don't know. I'll buy it again, but maybe cut it with a fuller tasting coffee.

I am so thankful that I found this coffee after moving to a place with little coffee culture. I have lived in a coffee-conscious city for a few years and avoided chains for the experience. But I guess it made me a bit particular because I can only drink non-chain coffee as it tends to have a better flavor profile. Kicking horse Kick A.. has been great in my bodum pour over (it doesn’t use paper filters, only a reusable metal/mesh one). It’s not as dark as dark espresso-type roasts, but almost! It’s smooth, rich, and has a medium weight feel on the tongue. It’s slightly earth, but has a gentle finish. I recommend it if you enjoy dark roasts that have an unimposing personality.

This is really good Coffee! But it is definitely strong!
Little-to-no acidity. Very smooth.
But you may want to decrease the amount of grounds. I normally use 56 grams of Coffee Grounds for a fully filled 10-Cup Bunn Coffee Pot. I am thinking next pot I will decrease to 50 grams.

Great coffee. For a dark roast, it's very smooth and without a lot of the bite and bitterness a dark roast may have. It's one of my favorite beans and we've tried a lot (Illy, Lavazza, Koffee Kult, Starbucks Pike place, etc.). The list is endless. I made a cup for my husband and he said it's one of the best he's had. We grind the beans at home manually and then brew the coffee for the best results.

Great coffee
I was looking for a new organic fair trade coffee. Based on the reviews I tried this one. I was not disappointed. It is my new favorite. Has a bold rich flavor but is very smooth, no bitterness. I also do not feel jittery afterwards. My mom who is a coffee enthusiast tried it and also liked it very much. I use it with a percolator, which I feel gives a better coffee taste.

A good dark roast.
