This achieves the same goal of making the microphone completely absent when not needed. Repleaceable cables save the day!
Repleaceable cables save the day! They are pretty normal headphones otherwise but are perfect for kids laptop duty because they always forget and yank the cable. Most of the time it detaches from either the laptop or the headphones without damage, although we have had to buy a replacement one time after it frayed. Standard aux cables (like what you would use for a car strereo) work fine, no need to buy the $20 original replacement.

Imagination play spark!
This was a gift for a 5 year old who likes to pretend he’s managing a nascar driver! Never meant to be plugged in for actual use, but for the price this was such a winner! Driver and pit crew pretend play has come alive!

Love the detachable cords! Kids snagged one on a chair leg and were able to keep using the headphones with a spare one we had from a mid-2000s boombox. Support was quick to replace the torn cable as well!

Second pair of these that I've purchased
Second pair of these that I've purchased. The kids say they are comfortable for long use and they seem to work fine withe the tablets they were given for remote schooling last year. Good to know also that they limit the noise level to prevent hearing damage - that's just icing on the cake!
