Lid doesn't stay on well, it is hard to actually clip it correctly, the seal falls off and is hard to get back in place, and it's more hassle than help.

Horrible purchase

Cute, but too heavy, ice pack is very difficult to remove and there is no seal between the two inner compartments so it won’t work for us. It’s going back.

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Target, test your own products. This thing leaks, doesn’t close properly, and the ice pack is incredibly difficult to get out. Save your money and don’t buy it at all!

Lightweight box outershell is plastic inside is steel . On opening the package it says Dishwasher top rack safe . Pretty sturdy . Also has a detachable gel pack .

Great quality, price point is excellent, keeps food cold (ice pack makes contact with stainless steel line so the food is always touching a cold surface). I find it easy to open and close and disagree strongly with the reviews that say it is hard. IF you take the seal off when you wash and put it back on wrong, it is hard to close. But when the seal is on correctly (it’s sided with a taper on one edge but not the other), it closes and opens easily. The ice pack fits snuggly and is not easy to remove by had but I wouldn’t want it easy to remove either, because then it wouldn’t stay in place. I use a butter knife to gently pop it out, and that is very easy. Overall, I think the bad reviews are incorrect and I absolutely love this product and would purchase again.

I really like the design of the box, it looks great. However, I noticed that the lid fills with water every time I wash it, and it’s difficult to clean inside. I’m also concerned about whether it’s safe for kids if water remains trapped inside. If the design could focus more on being kid-safe, easy to clean, and practical to use, it would be much more beneficial for parents like us.

I really like this bento box because it has the stainless steel insert. It is accurate that the lid is very hard to close - I ordered mine online so it shipped in & the gasket (rubber seal on the lid) was not installed. There’s no specification on which way it goes in, & there is a difference. You can tell by looking at the picture how it should be, and it is definitely air tight but is not at all easy to get it to close correctly for a young child or an adult that, say, has arthritis in the hands. You have to really squeeze it hard to get the kid to click closed properly. Other reviews that mention how the lid holds water after washing it are accurate- I take the gasket out to wash it to ensure it doesn’t get moldy & the lip where the gasket goes doesn’t dry all the way, even after it sits open all night. Also, it is very hard to get the ice pack out, especially if you put it in the wrong way and can’t grab the hole in the middle to help when trying to detach it.

I like that it is stainless and it's affordable. I don't like that it doesn't all the way.

Rubber seal came out of the box before we even got it out of the shopping bag. Junk.

Hard for kids to close properly. You have to push down quite hard on the lid.

great box! the lid is annoying at first, but yeah you just have to reinstall the gasket correctly which is really easy. it's the clear rubber thing. see LB's review here for a picture! for more detail, it's kind of hard to explain but you want to turn it so that the side with the groove/dip in it is facing upwards towards you, and that the side where it protrudes/is raised like a hill is away from you and pushed into the opening at the lid. like you REALLY have to push it in to make sure it doesn't slip, i used a thick embroidery needle to make sure it was fully molded to the lid. if you do that well it should work perfectly!
